We’re delighted that you are planning to take part
in the exciting release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – The Original Screenplay, the second in
J.K. Rowling’s five-film Fantastic Beasts series.
In this kit you’ll find inspiration, practical resources
and guidelines on holding your own event around the
release, which launches simultaneously with the film
on 16 November 2018.
It’s up to you whether you want to stick closely to the activities
included here, or to use them as a starting point. Whatever your
event, there are a few general things to bear in mind:
Events around Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald should be all
about celebrating the next stage in the adventure, and to give fans
the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Fantastic
Beasts. Related works from the Wizarding World may be included
in the celebrations in support of the book launch but shouldn’t
lead the format or promotions of the event.
This kit is intended to work for in-store events which are free of
charge and encourage customer participation in your regions.*
2
* No fees should be charged for admission or for any activities at the event – any exceptions to this will need to be
submitted to The Blair Partnership (via the Sales Director at Little, Brown) for approval. Please Contact Gary Deane if you
have any questions about fees and admission.
Furthermore, there should be no third parties or sponsors tied to any events.
Each store should include somewhere at the event and in any copy online: “Warner Bros. Entertainment and J.K. Rowling
are not responsible for this event but, subject to conditions, they have kindly granted us permission to use the Wizarding
World trade mark and other materials.”
No doubt in line with your own company policy, the event should be of a good quality and meet accepted standards of
good taste, decency and safety for family-oriented events, and must comply with local laws and regulations.
There should be no performances/acting of scenes from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald or acting
out of previous stories. Please do not create or extend the story in any way (e.g. with new characters, spells or
creatures) or by giving the characters new dialogue in marketing materials etc.
1 . WHERE THE STORY BEGAN –
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
The adventures began, of course, with the first film and accompanying
screenplay, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. If you’d like to run a
screening of the first film in-store, please get in touch with Gary Deane
as you will need a license and approval to do this.

2. PROMOTE
Let your regular customers and local communities know that they
can be a part of the fun in the lead-up to release day. As well as listing
your event to Waterstones.com, do spread the word on social media
using the hashtags
#FantasticBeasts #FBScreenplay
If you are hosting a large event, do tell local press and radio stations
about it and invite them to attend. You will find press release
templates attached to the Fantastic Beasts 2 article on Watson.
3. DECORATE
Official Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – The Original Screenplay
POS will be available to help creatively decorate your space on the
theme of Fantastic Beasts.
The only artwork to be used in marketing materials in connection
with the event should be specific to the film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and/or the screenplay.
Encourage young people and their families to come along in costume,
incentivising the best dressed with a prize on the night. Please do not
have people acting as characters from any of the Wizarding World
films at the store or hire in magicians – let the customers bring the
dress-up magic!
Please can we request that no live animals or birds be featured at the
event.
5
4. CELEBRATE!
Photocopy or print out the activities in the next section.
If you have arranged to show the first Fantastic Beasts film as part of
your event, create separate areas for children’s activities and welcome/
refreshments.
Please do not use the names of Warner Bros food and drink (e.g. in
making up pretend ‘Butterbeer’). Official licensed confectionery is of
course fine.
We love to see the excitement and activities nationwide, so please do
tag us in pictures on the day @LittleBrownUK on Twitter. Do check
with attending guests (and especially children’s parents) that they
are happy to be photographed, and that
they are happy for the photographs to
be used for publicity purposes.

The following pages describe each of the activities and
how you might use them for your in-store events. Feel
free to be creative. The activities span from those suitable
for younger book-lovers to those adults will enjoy, and
we would encourage you to have anyone join in.
1. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Bingo.
FIND ON PAGE 11
This activity is ideal for a screening of the first film. Photocopy
enough sheets for one per screening-attendee, and provide pencils.
The audience will need to cross off each of the items or characters
that feature as they appear on screen.
You could have a phrase such as a well-known Wizarding World
charm to be shouted out by the first person to win a line, and then
another word to be called out for a full house. And a small prize to
offer the most eagle-eyed Fantastic Beasts fans in the audience!

the winning team, just before screening the film.
Answers below – award one point per correct answer:

Obscurus, Picquery, Kowalski, Credence, Suitcase, Graves,
Graphorn, Grindylow, Billywig

Society (unofficially ‘The
Second Salemers’)
6. Porpentina Goldstein
7. Obliviation (the incantation

5. For Younger Fans – Creature Colouring.
FIND ON PAGES 15-18

colouring in do to. All you need to do is photocopy the creatures and
provide colouring pencils or crayons.
6. For grown-ups.
FIND ON PAGE 19
If any adults attending the event would like to participate in some
colouring in, the final activity page is just for them. Arrange tables
with sheets of this photocopied page and coloured pencils.
