  • DescriptionThe following is a CAD project completed for my Computer-Aided Textile Design course in Spring 2011. It was inspired by the animals and flowers of the Amazon rainforest.

  • InspirationThe wildlife in the Amazon Rainforest is truly unique The animals and plants alike are full of bright colors and visually interesting patternsPatterns in the designs reflect aspects of various Amazonian creatures, including the parrot, white-eared jacamar and banana flower

  • DesignsTwo shoes, one woman's scarf, one couch, one chair and two interiors were designed for this projectSix unique prints were designed and applied to each textileEach item is modern, with its own unique colorway reflecting the creature or plant the design was inspired byThe items are intended to be marketed to individuals in their 20s or 30s with contemporary taste

  • The pattern for this shoe was inspired by the blue morpho butterfly, which has a beautiful blend of blue, brown and white tones

  • The pattern for this wedge was inspired by the parrot a colorful and majestic bird with beautiful feathers

  • The pattern for this scarf was inspired by the white-eared jacamar a small and intriguing Amazonian bird.

  • The pattern for this scarf was inspired by the red and yellow banana flower

  • The pattern for this couch was inspired by the eyes and scales of the caiman lizard.

  • The pattern for this chair was inspired by the colors and beak of St. Vincent's Amazon a small, colorful native bird.
