BeFore you Start• Checkallthecomponentsagainstthepackinglist.
• Forsafetypurposesandeaseofinstallation,whereverpossibletakeyourvehicletoaqualifiedinstallerwithavehiclelift.
• Ifcarryingoutahome-installation,parkyourvehicleonalevelsurfaceandallowtimeforthevehicleandexhausttocooldown.
• Remembertoalwaysusejackstandstosupportthevehiclewhenworkingunderneath.
• Wearprotectiveclothing,includingeyeshields.
• Disconnectthebatteryifworkingnearelectricalconnections.
reMoving the Stock SySteM• Sprayallbolts,jointsandmountswithreleasing
fluid;allowtopenetrateforaboutanhour.
• Releaseallconnectorsorclampsonthesystemandthenstarttodismantlethesystemfromtherearforwards.Somestocksystemsareinstalledinonepiecebythecarmanufacturerbeforethesuspensionorrearaxleareinstalled,thesesystemswillneedtobecuttoberemoved.
• Stocksystemsareheavy,somakesurethatyouhavehelporcanadequatelysupportthesystemwhenitisreleased.
• Sometimesremovingtherubberhangerscanbedifficult,removingthebracketfromthebodymaybeabettersolution.

inStalling the Milltek SySteM• Removeallprotectivepackagingandtrialfit
theunitstogetherontheground,makesurethateachjointhasaclampandthattherubberhangersaretransferredfromthestocksystem,replaceanywornordamagedmounts.
• Smearasmallamountofhi-temperaturesiliconsealantinsideeachslottedjointorflangeface,thiswillhelppreventleaksonstart-upandpreventthepipesseizingtogether.
• Installthesystem,fronttobackwithoutclampinganyjoints.

• Positionthesystemsothatthehangersareideallyinclinedtothefrontofthecarby10-15mm,thesehangerswillthenmoveintotheircorrectpositionwhenthesystemishotandexpands.
• Makesurethatthereisadequateclearancearoundthesystem,rememberingthatthesystemwillexpandbyupto25mmwhenhot.
• Whenthesystemisintheoptimumposition,tightenuptheclampsfromthefronttotheback,adjustingthesystemasnecessary.Donotovertightentheclamps.

• Startthevehicleandallowtorunattickoveruntilthesystemiswarmedup.
• Checkthesystemforleaks;it’snotunusualforcondensationtofinditswayoutofthejointsinthewarm-upphase.
• Takeyourvehicleforatestdriveandallowthevehicletoreachoptimumrunningtemperatures.Aftertestdrive;re-checkallthejointsandclearanceswhilsttheexhaustisstillhot,re-adjustifnecessary.
