Huskies of the Week

The PBIS Committee and administration would like to congratulate the following Huskies of

the Week for showing outstanding respect!

Locke Schulman (1st – nominated by Mrs. Mackey, homeroom Mrs. Horton) showed respect by waiting

for directions before touching game pieces on the table.

Alexis Durnen (2nd grade – nominated by Ms. Short) showed respect by being a great friend! Another

student dropped a book in the hallway, and Alexis asked if the other student needed help.

Alexander DiGiamberdine (5th grade – nominated by Mrs. Natalie Shephard) showed respect by always

saying thank you to staff and students for holding the door.

Bethany Bentz (6th grade – nominated by Mrs. Conley) showed respect by always showing kindness to

others in both words and actions.

The students will be honored by receiving a certificate, having their names in this week’s newsletter, on the TV in the main lobby, mentioned in the Husky Happenings, and shared on the Holly Academy Facebook page. It's great to be a Husky!

Empower Girls to Invent Their Future! Currently, only 18 percent of patented inventors are women, and if we continue at the current rate, it will take 118 years to reach a gender balance. We can help close this gap by giving more girls the opportunity to experience hands-on STEM through our Camp Invention® program. Help us spread the word! Encourage parents in your community to register a girl for your local Camp using the code GIRL25T for $25 off. Your program will also have the chance to WIN an exciting guest visitor this summer! Each girl registered with this code will be entered to win a Camp visit from Dr. Arlyne Simon, biochemical engineer, patented inventor and author of "Abby Invents Unbreakable Crayons!" On April 1, one name will be randomly selected for their Camp to win this special visit, and each camper will take home a signed copy of Dr. Simon’s fun, empowering book.

Let’s give more girls the power to invent!

Offer valid through 03/31/2019 for new and returning participants. Cannot be combined with other discounts.

Camp Invention is a program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame, a nonprofit organization with a mission to foster creativity and advance an inventive spirit while honoring the nation's greatest innovators.
