“To be or not to be, that is the question.

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings

and arrows of outrageous fortune,

or take arms against a sea of troubles, and by

opposing,end them.”*Hamlet is debating

weather he wants to be alive or not.

“ Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him,Horatio – a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy.

He hath bore me on his back a thousand times, and now how

abhorred in my imagination it is! “

*Hamlet is brought to a hardship in his life when he

is shown his fathers skeleton.

“I lov'd Ophelia. Forty thousand brothers could not with

all their quantity of love make up my sum”

*Hamlet try's to explain his love for Ophelia to

her brother after her death.

“The play's the thing wherein I'll catch the conscience of the king.”

*Hamlet plans a play to copy the death of

his father, to push the king

to confess.

“My mother: father and mother is man and wife; man and wife is one flesh; and so, my mother.

Come, for England!”

*Hamlet does not believe

that his mother was faithful

to her first marriage.

“My father's brother, but no more like my father

Than I to Hercules.”*Hamlet does not

believe the king

could ever compare to his father.

“My lord, as I was sewing in my closet, Lord Hamlet, with his doublet all unbraced; No hat upon his head; his stockings foul’d

Ungarter’d, and down- gyved to his ankle; Pale as his shirt; his knees knocking each other;

And with a look so piteous in purport As if he had been loosed out of hell To speak of horrors,

- he comes before me “

Ophelia is explains she is worried about hamlet due to the way he was dressed and actions.

“O, my lord, my lord, I have been so affrighted!”

Ophelia is scared and worried about Hamlet after

his disturbing entrance.

“Why may not that be the skull of a lawyer? Where be his quiddities now,

his quillets, his cases, his tenures, and his tricks?”

Hamlet explains that his father

is no longer worth anything

his bones are the only thing left.

“Ay , sir; to be honest, as this world goes,

is to be one man picked out of ten thousand.”

A honest man is rare

and hard to find.

*Poem**Green Eggs and Hamlet*I ask to be or not to be.

That is the question I ask of me. This sullied life, it makes me shudder. My uncle's boffing dear sweet mother.

Would I, could I take me life? Could I, should I end this strife?

Should I jump out of a plane? Or throw myself before a train? Should I from a cliff just leap? Could I put myself to sleep?

Shoot myself or take some poison? Maybe try self-immolation?

To shudder off this mortal coil, I could stab myself with a fencing foil.

Slash my wrists while in the bath? Would it end my angst and wrath?

To sleep, to dream, now there's the rub. I could drop a toaster in my tub. Would all be glad if I were dead?

Could I perhaps kill them instead? This line of thought takes consideration -

For I'm the king of procrastination.

*Song**Something is rotten in Denmark, I see*

Hamlet - to be or not to be!The ghost of thy father is calling to thee

Hamlet - what is reality?

Your mother and uncle have wedYou wish him dead

You've messed up OpheliaKilled her old man instead

So was it dreamt of in your philosophy?Hamlet -- to be or not to be!

Rosenkrantz, Guilderstern -- they got the boot.Hamlet! Hamlet! Go get the king!

Your old friends from school have played you like a fluteHamlet! Hamlet! The play's the thing!

Laertes has turned, wants revengeYou've exposed king's lies

Swordplay -- you fought and you lost, almost everyone dies

This story is a tragedy, but it's not dullNow Ho-ratio holds Yorick's skull.

*Letter**There are many things that surprised me about my learning of

Hamlet; such as how he changes and seems insane to most people. A lot of the situations in Hamlets life are similar to my own life because love can push you away from your spouse, when influenced by outsiders. I am most proud of my quotes in my project because I now have a better understanding of what Hamlet went through during his life; and how his love for his father and Ophelia drove him to what seemed insane. If I could tell Hamlet one thing it would be to not get revenge but make other people understand where you’re coming from. Also, I would tell him that no matter what happens never push away the ones you love, or the ones that love you. I will hold on to many things from this play such as, regardless of where you grow up, or time period, love is always the same, and sticks with you, so don’t wait until it’s too late to be with the one you love forever; also don’t let him/her brake up with you so easily if you are truly in love.
