To my IBCM Participants for CREAM Ratings: Knowledge Transfer.
The Audience, and International Study on CREAM Ratings.
The Book of Changes - An Intro Jayaraman Rajah Iyer
Hello friends, I am Jayaraman Rajah Iyer, aged 78, living in India. I have recently published my Book:
Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability: Measuring Intangible, Fiscal and Ethical Assets.
Briefly let me explain what I intend to take you on the journey of INTANGIBLE.
1] CREAM Ratings - CREAM is an acronym for:
Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Earnings, Accounting Quality, and Management Quality.
CREAM Ratings is the first ever rating system for corporate, as you will learn rating the qualitative elements of management.
2] An Introduction - Please do have a look at the video I have posted: IBCM - CREAM Ratings Academy - An Introduction.
3] Knowledge Transfer - Knowledge is the Goal of Ethics. Rule expresses the truth and justifies its conduct. We have knowledge of the rules but we lack the knowledge of their conduct. Hence knowledge base is empty. The knowledge base of each company needs to be filled by their conduct of the set rules. So the participants of CREAM Ratings first learn the knowledge transfer technique and help companies to fill up their knowledge base.
4] The Course Modules: There are 9 Modules as specified hereunder.
1.Module 1: Causality 2. Module 2: Who are you?, 3. Module 3: The Root Cause of Economic Collapse, 4. Module 4: Intangible Defined - Enabler for a Vaccine FDA Certification, 5. Module 5: Measuring the Intangible - Project SEED - Social, Environmental, Economic Development, 6. Module 6: Inactivity Based Cost Management [IBCM], IBCM © Research 2021 The Audience Page /2 45

7. Module 7: Board of Directors the Corporate Proton, 8. Module 8: The CEO Practices and CREAM Report for Corporate Electron, 9. Module 9: Society for Corporate Neutron.
5] The key takeaways: Each Module specifies the following:
• WHAT YOU WILL LEARN • SKILLS YOU WILL GAIN • ABOUT THIS SPECIALIZATION • COURSE ASSESSMENT • AFTER COMPLETION OF THIS MODULE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO: • TIME REQUIRED FOR THIS MODULE
For each Module I shall attach my video presentation on the subject matter and further materials from my book. Course Assessment would be on the basis of your report on the subject under study and I shall respond to each of your reports and evaluate the same.
6] Course Certification: At the end of the course I shall issue the Course Completion certificate. You will find how valuable the fishing rod would be for you. You will also learn at the end of the Module on CREAMchain based on Blockchain a lifetime record of self-governance.
7] The Audience; I give below the companies who have evinced interest in looking at my posts relevant to this course searching for my profile:
Please see: Annexure 1. For the full list: Sample
Please see the full list as per Annexure 1: The list includes corporate who had evinced great interest in several of my articles pertaining to my book, before and after.

8] Pricing: CREAM Ratings is a pioneering work and I shall establish facilities for International Studies. Considering my age I would like to group, possibly from University students, group of Managers within a single company or government. I shall be checking on the pricing and shall announce while posting the Modules 1 to 9. In the meantime based on what I have posted here on CREAM Ratings - Video, please do respond.
9] International Studies on CREAM Ratings: The best of the reports submitted by the participants would pave the way from publishing a journal of top rated articles from time to time.

9] About the Author
About the Author Jayaraman Rajah Iyer, Chartered Accountant (ICAI, New Delhi, 1966), has a unique insight into major changes in accounting, culled from experience with firms across the globe. He interned at Hindustan Lever (1966) and held key positions at Automobile Products of India (API) and Mafatlal Services. As Forestry Operations Accountant at Wimco (1972), he introduced “Likely Ultimate Cost.” In 1977 he was General Manager of ITI, Lagos,
Nigeria. Sir William Castell, who later became Chairman of the Wellcome Trust, selected him to join the Wellcome Foundation, UK, specifically to set right the dysfunctional accounting at Wellcome, Nigeria. During the 1990s he was engaged in corporate consulting. He had been visiting faculty at SIES School of Management, where he taught balanced scorecard and strategic cost management on the basis of the Proprietary IBCM (inactivity based cost management, 2006, copyright © Jayaraman Iyer). He has been a crusader against corruption and business malpractice all through his life. His mission is to convert corporate to adopt return on intangible for accelerating growth and profits. He believes the utilization of men and women employed as of now amounts to nothing, knowing their amazing capabilities that are immense. Intangible is a powerhouse that when triggered would bring prosperity and happiness to all around. Value System is crucial to bring the abstractions into reality, acknowledge value where value is due, and deconstruct what is valueless. A Sustainable Value System within corporate would bring in sustainable profits, he avers. A well-managed corporate will have no chance of getting muddled with NPAs and interest defaults. For this return on intangible is the only solution, he emphasizes. His call for Change, Change, Change Corporate, Change the Denominator is to usher in people’s energy as the basis for measuring development and well-being. India’s culture should be carried forward, forever, as it is intangible, he says.

Introduction
The book of Changes: Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability: Measuring
Intangible, Fiscal, and Ethical Assets. [The-Book] My posts in Slideshare/LinkedIn
e.g., Who failed Volkswagen, is it Corporate Governance or Management Quality?
attracted and continues to attract several views [10421]. So is the case for a similar
article on, Who failed Infosys, Corporate Governance, or Management Quality?
[2409] and Who failed big 4 audit firms, is its corporate governance or management
quality? [381]. The main reason is the differentiating Corporate Governance from
Management Quality and providing a relevant slot for each that makes the
management structure well defined. In LinkedIn, several such organizations have IBCM © Research 2021 The Audience Page /7 45

evinced interest in searching for the profile that I have presented in Table 1. Thanks,
guys! You are my inspiration to launch The Book of Changes that is a consolidation
of many an idea brought about in this form, via LinkedIn.
Book of changes
Many of us are aware of I-Ching known as Book of Changes. Confucius was said to
have commented well of I-Ching and it is said no major decision is ever taken in China
without consulting I-Ching. Looking a the way China is being run, China consulting I-
Ching is indeed doubtful. In 1976, while on a professional tug-of-war of conflict of
interest vs. conflict of conscience, before posting letters I had written, I would check
with I-Ching. After procedural follow-up, I would land in one of the 64 hexagrams of I-
Ching. Going through what I had written and compared it with the possible steps it
would take as illustrated in I-Ching I could analyze the consequences of such an
initiative. I would not take further steps without correcting myself. I found I-Ching a
powerful tool that optimizes one’s synapses and neurons. I had not used I-Ching since
then. However, it occurred to me while writing The-Book, the six stages of Strategy
Planning would warrant such an intensive Analysis in stage 5 before the last stage of
presenting a Strategy Plan. Hence, The-Book is the modern-day I-Ching without which
no decision for corporate or government shall ever be undertaken. Let me explain
here.

The-Book
The title reads thus: Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability: Measuring Intangible,
Fiscal, and Ethical Assets. Corporate Citizenship is the subject that relates to the
creation of Ethical Assets, whereas Corporate Sustainability is of the Object that relates
to the creation and sustainability of Fiscal Assets; both with a common denominator
Intangible, the one and the only resource of pulsating energy an organization has. The
subject-object distinction of qualitative and quantitative elements of management, The-
Book propounds, is the unique
formula applicable for all
organizations, corporate and
government. Corporate rating is
t h e r e s u l t a n t r a t i n g s o f
individual performance and not
separa te . Two impor tan t
parameters any organization
would look for are i. Metrics
and ii. Benchmarks, that the
readers would find compelling
to admit as everlasting.
The-Book is listed under the
Business Ethics and Corporate Citizenship category of Business Expert Press, the IBCM © Research 2021 The Audience Page /9 45

publisher, with Prof. David Wasieleski , as the Editor. Prof. David helped me with his 1
wise suggestions and add-ons which were truly valuable.
LinkedIn connects
Let me briefly explain how would be of use to the LinkedIn viewers who are familiar
with The-Book through some of the posts, as listed in Table 1.

University of Chicago,
University of Houston,
Wake Forest University,
are some who had shown interest in viewing my posts/profile, in LinkedIn. Quite
encouraging on account of the interest from the educational institutions, very
important for taking my research work forward.
Three important points that would be relevant for educational institutions to look into
are.
1. Immanuel Kant (1724–1804) raised the question of whether a science of
metaphysics with a logical structure, like that of the well-established mathematical and
natural sciences, was possible. That call was made nearly 250 years back, now The-
Book has made it possible. I would like the university students, professors, and
research scholars to raise the question, Is it so? and find the answer from The-Book.
2. The binary value derived from the equation Return on Intangible [RoI] is
comparable to the zero when found as a number on its right. The other famous binary
system deployed in computers depends on speed as it is quantitative whereas RoI
relates to qualitative data, compressed at the root level.
3. Reverse Mentoring. Students would find The-Book a companion to effect changes
toward application in industry, commerce, and government.

2. Accounting
CROWE, UK,
Grant Thornton Bahrain,
KPMG India,
PWC,
were the viewers of my posts/profile, as in Table 1. The accounting profession where I
belong to is an admirable set of people and a formidable force adhering to ethical
practices. The-Book describes them as nearest to the Society. The-Book establishes
Corporate/Government Atomic Structure, where the Society takes a crucial position in
the Board room, with a special slot for the Auditors. Tracking the profession from 1979,
looking at its glory reflecting GRACE – governance, responsibility, authority, credibility,
enabled fiscal and ethical assets that were of an impeccable standard and then leading
to GRACE-2 as to why the profession lost its shine completely as on today. The-Book
offers a solution for the Accounting profession, CFOs inclusive to regain its status. I
strongly recommend The-Book for the Accounting profession as The-Book of Changes.
Measuring Ethical Assets is going to be crucial for the corporate and government
sustainability that the Accounting profession has a major role to play.
3. Banking and Financial Services group
19 Banking and 33 Financial Services as listed in Table 1 are a force to be reckoned
with. To name a few,

are some of the viewers of my post/profile as listed in Table 1. Let me take two entities,
State Bank of India [SBI], from Banking and BNY Mellon [BNY[, from Financial
Services for reference here.
SBI states: Our legacy ranges back to the British era through the Imperial Bank of
India, founded in 1806. With over 24,000 branches, we are a conglomerate
employing skilled professionals who are successfully taking the legacy forward
through our specialized and customized financial services designed to cater to the
needs of Corporates, SMEs, NRIs & Retail customers.
BNY Mellon states: A proven steward for more than 235 years, BNY Mellon helps
its clients manage and service their financial assets throughout the investment
lifecycle. As of March 31, 2020, BNY Mellon had $35.2 trillion in assets under
custody and/or administration and $1.8 trillion in assets under management.
From The-Book - CREAM Report: The-Book facilitates preparing a CREAM Report –
CREAM an acronym for – Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Earnings,

The Book of Changes - An Intro Jayaraman Rajah Iyer
Accounting Quality, and Management Quality. There are 170 open-ended process
blocks as illustrated in The-Book from where the CREAM Report is prepared.
CREAM Ratings are for individuals and collectively for Corporate, measuring
individual performance. There’s no separate Corporate Rating is done. Repeat, there
is no separate corporate rating is done.
Performance rating is done for a team of 5 who are yoked together but work
independently. The rating matrix would consist of process areas synced to the
respective resource areas. The only resource is people.
Illustratively, how SBI would handle 24,000 branches or BNY Mellon would
manage $1.8 trillion assets under its management are rated with a CREAM Report.
The-Book guides one to prepare a CREAM Report that is the performance rating of
each individual, each branch, and collectively the organization - SBI or BNY
Mellon as the case may be. The CREAM Report would be extended to the client
companies that any NPA would affect the ratings for the bank concerned.
Effectively the entire gamut of performers on both sides would be the energy force.
Inactivity refers to the fault lines or non-performance of a single person that in
course of time would be brought to nil. The banking and Financial Services sector
when they all go for CREAM Report would reflect performance of each person.
More importantly, the ratings are done on a pro-active basis. Check The-Book.

Having worked for The Wellcome Foundation I found the company was run by its
employees since Sir Henry Wellcome passed away in 1936. With a few Nobel Prize
winners the company dedicated to medical research and The Wellcome Trust as a
charity had been doing a great job.
I have been looking at the pharma units and almost all of them listed in Table 1 are
exceptionally good. However, among the pharma units Ranbaxy was progressing well
IBCM © Research 2021 The Audience Page /16 45

but the owners Singh brothers brought the company to ruins. A Wellcome Model
would have been more appropriate.
After Covid-19 fiasco, there is an urgency to usher in the Ethical Responsibility among
biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms. CREAM Report for such companies shall be
made mandatory.

The-Book discusses Volkswagen, Boeing, Lockheed, Bayer, Monsanto, Tesla, Tata
Group, Toshiba, Infosys etc. under different contexts. Three important aspects
management shall adopt are:
1. Corporate Atomic Structure, enables management to operate at an optimized level
of performance, aligning fiscal responsibility with ethical responsibility that is crucial

in bringing the abstractions into reality, acknowledge value where value is due, and
deconstruct what is valueless. Policies and the Society are brought together in the
structure as part of the nucleus with the CEO Team spinning around it, establishing
what Kant had raised the issue of metaphysics with a logical structure, being addressed
effectively.
2. Measuring cost consequence is the pro-active management philosophy, eliminating
the cost of inaction, expounded, and measured appropriately. The metrics and
benchmarks provided enable n-dimensional problems are converted to n-problems of
a single dimension.
3. Change the denominator is the mantra adopting corporate yoga and becoming fit as
a fiddle outfit. The denominator is the energy force, obtaining a binary value of action
or inaction in the numerator. Return on Intangible will be the formula for decision-
making.

find, and not to yield. IBCM © Research 2021 The Audience Page /21 45
The Book of Changes - An Intro Jayaraman Rajah Iyer
1. Accountability: The-Book expounds the theory of Subject-Object distinction of
Qualitative and Quantitative elements of management, by forming a team of five
people yoked together but acts independently. A single task performed by a single
person enabling the accomplishment of an infinite succession of finite purposes by
controlling each goal is traced back from data presented by say The Worldbank or
OECD.
2. Ethical Assets: This group of HR, corporate trainers, NGOs, Philanthropies,
Management Consultants are responsible for ushering in a Value system in corporate
and government, what The-Book classifies under Management Quality. Code of
conduct, code of business principles, UNGC 10 principles under 4 issue areas of
Human Rights, Labor Rights, Environmental Rights, UNCAC, conflict of interest,
conflict of personal interest, conflict of conscience, insider trading, whistleblowing,
FCPA Act, HACCP, FDA rules, and many more are the efforts put in by this group. They
are extensions to corporate self-governance as well as third-party assurance. A
successful action process forms the basis of calculating ethical assets of an
organization.
3. A Corporate entity is personified in human form, with six main limbs and four
auxiliary limbs as to what each limb represents. This way corporate citizenship is
identified as of people not a non-entity. Corporate citizenship and ethical assets go
hand in hand. Creamchain a record of CREAM Ratings of each person with a secured

should find The-Book very absorbing.

The three factors that shall
highlight the importance of this group vis-à-vis The-Book:
1. Planning for GDP, GNH Index: In response to my Letter to the Indian Prime
Minister, Measuring India’s Development and Wellbeing, GDP, and religious Harmony,
as seen here, many like Care Ratings, CRISIL, Gujarat International Finance Tec-City,
Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, NITI Aayog responded. NITI Aayog is India’s prime GDP

planning body. GDP and country ratings coupled with GNH Index is the hallmark of
The-Book that would give direction to planning bodies, ratings agencies world over.
2. Tracking commitment: Subsequently, I had sent another letter to Prime Minister
Modi, Economic Revival Measures - Stimulus Package - Cost of Inaction, after releasing
a stimulus package of Rs 20,97,053 Crore, for the revival of Indian economy on
account of the Covid-19 disruption. Also, we see, US lawmakers had agreed on the
passage of a $2 trillion stimulus bill called the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and
Economic Security) Act in March 2020, to blunt the impact of an economic downturn
set in motion by the coronavirus pandemic. The-Book makes it possible by converting
CAGR to CDGR [D-Daily] to every economic sector, tracking the commitment made
and action taken.
3. EPP - Efforts per person: The-Book brings out the way to create GNH Index, GDP
Plans by way of EPP-Efforts Per Person concept. Coupled with Creamchain concept our
collective commitments to the United Nations Millennium Declaration of
sustainability of economic, social, environmental protection, and development goals
can be sustained. The-Book describes Project FISCAL - Farmer - Industry - Society - &
Consolidate - Agri - Leadership. Agriculture is the crucial aspect of managing India
during COVID-19 pandemic that Prime Minister Modi by extending till November
2020 free grains distribution to 800 million people of India had ensured the very
stability of the country. Project FISCAL as illustrated in The-Book underlines the

importance of each farmer tracking by EPP. So would be for others who makes to
contribute to the national GDP

are but a few that appear in Table 1.
The-Book highlights the famous movie, Honey, I shrunk the kids. Data is shrunk, a
single task accomplishment is identifiable to a single person ensuring accountability of
data, collectively to a single company and then on to national GDP or GNH Index, on
a pro-active CDGR [Daily] basis. How data reflected in WorldBank or OECD could be
traced to the single data, Qualitative and Quantitative, as The-Book is structured? Data
is shrunk at the root level. It is the recap of what St. Augustine encounter with a boy at
the beach asking how he would be emptying the ocean drop by drop in a little hole he
had dug?
9. RFP - Digital Transformation of CREAM Report
I am happy with my association with the publisher. The next step is to assist companies
and individuals to measure their performance. The preparation of a CREAM Report
should be simple, negligible cost as in India as per the official estimates, there are
about 63.05 million micro industries, 0.33 million small, and about 5,000 medium
enterprises in the country. By EPP all planning must be done and performance tracked.
IBCM © Research 2021 The Audience Page /26 45
