Hi, I would like to introduce to you what I believe our next club charity shouldbe. I have been volunteering at Mission Medical Clinic at 2125 East LaSalle. This touches lives across the board. All donations go for medicine, equipment, office supplies, utilities and building maintenance. Everyone is a volunteer. Noone is paid. It is a free clinic for low income, uninsured patients between theages of 18 and 65 who have an address in El Paso and Teller counties. We haveregular family practice doctors, a pharmacy and free mail order drugs, a diabeticclinic [with eye doctor, dietitian, & podiatrist], a Psychiatrist, an orthopedic doc-tor and a therapist. Our patients can see other specialists in theiroffices free and get free labs at Memorial and Penrose hospitals. We are plan-ning to have dental care also in the near future. We are giving away more than amillion dollars of medical care and medicine a year. We have been openfor nearly two years. Our building is donated free of charge from Memorialhospital. However, city council wants Memorial to sell the building in thespring of 06. We have the option to buy and are currently weighing what is ourbest option. This is one of our miracles in his own words.Thank you for being there. I went into the hospital in June of 2004 with a heartattack. I was in for three months. I had my own trucking business as anowner operator. I lost my truck and the business because the doctors said Icouldn't drive anymore. When I left the hospital, I had five stints, a pace maker, and a defibulator. I was broke with no income. I had about $300.00 worth ofmedicine in my hand. I heard about Mission Medical Clinic and called them tosee if they could help me.When I walked in, they were the friendliest and the nicest people I had beenaround in a long time. They took me in to qualify and treated me with kindnessand respect. Then I went in to see the doctor and I met one of the finest gentle-men I have ever known. Dr. Gaba is his name. I can't say enough about howgreat he is. Plus, I got one of the best physicals that I have ever had.We then went to the prayer room and two people prayed for me and with me. Ifound this to be uplifting and moving. The pharmacy filled my medicine needs and when I received them, I met Randy. He is on top of everything. He calls before I run out of something, and let's me know to come in for my prescriptions. Randy is a super guy and agreat person to work with. All of the nurses and the people who work at thedesks in the offices and in the prayer room are all pro's and very kind.I really believe that because of God and the Mission Medical Clinic, I am alivetoday. I want to thank all those individuals and the churches who support theclinic and all the volunteers who work there from the bottom of my heart. Thanks, BobAddisonPlease consider the Mission Medical Clinic as club charity and a place you canvolunteer. For more email me with your questions.Sincerely,Joy BolandLife time member of CSCC

Hi all,

I went in & talked to the people at T.E.S.S.A about the possibility of beingvoted as being our charity for 2006.

They were VERY happy & told me they would be MOST gracious to get ourfunding!!

I asked about the % of our funds going into administration vs. program fund-ing.

They can tailor it any way we want. We can just donate to T.E.S.S.A in gen-eral & approximately 20% goes to admin.: (building costs, utilities, phone & acouple of employees salaries). Or, we can designate our entire funds go tospecific funds like:crisis line, shelters...safe houses (sometimes they must usemotels), children's support groups, therapy, training, education and severalother programs.

So, we can do just about whatever we want & the money will stay in ColoradoSprings & be used as we direct.

You can find out about the organization by going to their website:www.tessacs.orgPlease take a look & see what you think, before we vote on a charity nextmeeting.

I believe that it was Todd Butts who recommended TESSA as one of the chari-ties.

President’s Corner

Well the New Year is upon us onceagain, and the busy holiday season is al-most behind us for another year. I hopeeveryone had a wonderful holiday seasonwith family and friends. Now I hope everyone is readyfor another year of Corvette fun.

Kicking things off this year will be our 4th annualJanuary CSCC Dub Bridge Card Party on the 21st ofJanuary. Mike and Winnie Bochnak will be hosting thisyear’s event and Ruth Swindale is in charge of making this event click. Ruth assures me this is a very easygame to learn and is nothing like Bridge. I hear theyeven give you written instructions to refer back to. Somake sure to attend this event for a good time and achance to get to know your fellow Corvetters a little bitbetter.

Last meeting we nailed down a lot of chairs forour upcoming events, but we still need a few more. Be-ing the chairperson for an event is not as scary as youmight think. We have a lot of experienced people to helpyou with ever you might need. So I encourage anyonewho is interested to raise your hand or let me know. Wewill have many events this year and need a lot of help. Also if you would like to plan an event that we don’t have scheduled or is new to the club just let Craig, Walt,or myself know.

Thanks for stopping in,Sean PazdziorPresident Pg. 21

FYI SECTION (cont’d)—————————————————————————————-

To CSCC,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Colorado Springs CorvetteClub for the flowers and get well wishes. I had a luncheon engagement onthat Friday with another CSCC member, and had advised him that I was justrunning by the clinic to have them look at my ankle that I had sprained twodays earlier. To make a long story short, I went from the clinic with thedoctor saying that he too thought it was just sprained to X-RAY because thedoctor just wanted to be safe. The tech in X-RAY asked me to remain in thewaiting area to insure the X-RAY were good. When she returned, I askedher if they came out, and she told me to sit right there as she was getting awheelchair. From XRAY to Orthopedics I managed to call my luncheonengagement (Tim Greenshields) to ask for a rain check. The Orthopedicsurgeon looked to be about the same age as a paperboy, but I learned that hehad graduated with honors from Harvard. From there it was to pre-op, andsurgery was scheduled for 4:00pm. When I was returned to my room fromthe surgery, the flowers from the Colorado Springs Corvette Club were al-ready in my room waiting to greet me. WOW! This is why I like hangingaround all of you great folks who enjoy great Corvettes, and are all are greatfriends. Thank You again for allowing me the privilege and honor of havingmy name associated with yours.

Best Regards, Craig (1st Vice)

PS - I know there are several rumors going around about how I broke myankle, and just to set the record straight - I walked into a bank robbery inprogress quite by accident. The two perps were a wrestling tag team downon their luck, and looking to score some quick cash. I had subdued one ofthem, with a headlock, when the other grabbed my ankle and twisted break-ing my ankle, and my subsequent scream caused them to flee. The reasonthis did not make the news is that I declined to accept the million dollar re-ward. Now you have the Paul Harvey - you know - the rest of the story.(There was no damage to the Harley).
