Whether or not a project “goes LEED”, Tocci implements on-site recycling, recycled/local material preference, indoor air quality management, and fundamental building commissioning. Back at our headquarters, we recycle everything from paper to batteries – and we compost our coffee grounds and discarded organic goods to fertilize our raised bed garden.
We use our BIM capabilities and LEED mindset to reduce waste and limit our carbon footprint. Our projects frequently use lean strategies including system prefabrication and model construction. BIM enables us to precoordinate and fabricate systems, reducing labor and material waste.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts decided to target LEED® for Building Design and Construction (BD+C) Silver
certification – six months into the project after 85% of subcontracts were awarded. Starwood, Tocci, and
the design team secured LEED® BD+C – Gold, delivering the first LEED® Certified hotel in New England.

Autodesk values sustainability so strongly that Tocci and design partner KlingStubbins jointly put a
portion of our profit at risk against achieving LEED® Interior Design and Construction Platinum (ID+C)
certification. The team went above and beyond, securing LEED® ID+C Platinum and supporting the
subsequent LEED® BD+C and LEED® Operations and Maintenance (O+M) certifications.

Harmon Cove developer Harz Mountain wasn’t satisfied with just achieving LEED® for Homes Silver
certification – the project also achieved ENERGY STAR certification under version 2.5.
