“Start ing a business is a huge learning curve, but so is
growing one!” Xol i
Nurturing a business through its various stages of growth is an exciting responsibility for any entrepreneur. Watching something that you started find its feet in the market is a two-fold experience - the happiness of success is always tempered with the anxiety of what scaling-up to the next level will be and what is needed to get there.
Ms Xoliswa Kakana is an entrepreneur who is opening her doors to share insights and progress tips with entrepreneurs on this important pursuit, having walked the path herself. Using the backbone of internationally renowned business strategy tools and practices, Xoli is prepared to delve into and provide an introduction to business owners of the four key tenets of business growth and prosperity realisation.
Over the period of the two days, the key fundamental levers of business strategy for growth will be addressed. These include:
People
Strategy
Execution
Cash
These focus areas will be addressed within the context of the South Africa-specific SMME business environment and our unique challenges and opportunities. Along with sharing her experience of business development over the past almost two decades, Xoli will also engage attendees on their specific pain points.
Business owners and key influencers of companies with an annual turnover of between R2m - R5m who are interested in making the step-change required to reach their Next Level are invited to attend this special introductory programme, and benefit from the experience of a mentor who has not only been at the helm of a very successful business, but has also surpassed the perceived "glass ceiling" in the male-dominated industry of Information Communication Technology.

Introducing Scaling-Up
Session Overview
The Four DecisionsTM (based on Mastering the Rockefeller Habits) refer to the critical decisions that growth companies must get right to maximize their revenue, profit and time.
Gazelles International Certified Coaches are specifically trained to use tools related to these decisions to help you and your leadership team focus and grow your business.
Originally developed by Verne Harnish in his book, Mastering the Rockefeller Habits, the One Page Strategic PlanTM is a simple yet powerful tool that helps you edit your vision and strategy down to a single, action-oriented page.
The Gazelles One Page Strategic PlanTM is the culmination of the four critical business decisions (People, Strategy, Execution, Cash) that growth companies must get right to maximize their revenue, profit and time. The Gazelles One Page Strategic PlanTM will help you and your management team get aligned, focused, and accountable, working with purpose toward common goals.

PEOPLE: Is everyone in your company pulling their own weight and contributing
as they should? If you had to start the company all over tomorrow, would you
enthusiastically rehire everyone on your team? Gazelles’ “People” tools will help
you and your team to get the right people doing the right things with clear
accountabilities and metrics.
STRATEGY: Do you have a solid top-line revenue growth strategy in place? The
key to sustainable top line growth is three-fold: knowing your core customer,
developing a clear brand promise, and developing your BHAG™ for sustainable
revenue growth. Gazelles’ unique One Page Strategic PlanTM will help you get
key decisions made and everyone on the same page.
EXECUTION: One common challenge that quietly sneaks up on successful
growth companies is the subtle transition from excellent, precise execution to
passivity, complacency and eventually poor execution. By tightening your
execution habits, you can dramatically improve gross margins and profitability
while saving time. Gazelles has a Execution Checklist of ten habits that will
reduce by up to 80% the time it takes you to manage the business, freeing up
leadership to spend more time on market-facing activities.
CASH: The first law of entrepreneurial gravity is “Growth Sucks Cash.” We
encourage companies to calculate their Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC), which
measures companywide how long it takes between the time you spend a dollar
(marketing, design, rent, wages, etc.) to when you get that dollar back. Gazelles’
Cash Conversion tool outlines the cash cycle and helps you work through
concrete ways to double operating cash flow in the next 12 months.
