SaaS application and JD Edwards hybrid cloud (coexistence) is going to be where we spend most of our time today. But, it is important that you understand that the term “Cloud” goes well beyond SaaS applications, so we will spend just a few minutes reviewing Oracle overall cloud strategy and sharing how JD Edwards is aligning.

This presentation covers guidelines intended to assist you in understanding key considerations when evaluating business applications you may want to implement in the cloud in a coexistent model.

We are sharing which Oracle SaaS applications we consider to be practical to coexist with JD Edwards. Not all coexistence opportunities are created equal, and our goal is to help you find value in SaaS without creating hybrid nightmare.

The presentation includes a review of the resources available to help you with hybrid models and integrations.

It is recommend that everyone review this Introduction session followed by the specific SaaS pillars you are interested in.

The subsequent sessions cover these SaaS Applications areas:

1. Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Our core strategy is to ensure that JD Edwards customers continue to have choice and control, so you can select and combine on premise and cloud solutions in such a ways as to achieve the most strategic advantages.

JDE strategy team is actively engaged in evaluating each layer (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS) to determine where JD Edwards customers can gain the most value and which are technically and practically feasible. We have, are, and will be investing in JDE E1 to ensure that E1 can run on the Oracle Public cloud (and other public clouds if you so desire). We are consuming and integrating with many of the PaaS offerings as this is where JD Edwards customers will realize significant value.

Our approach is to evaluate each cloud offering with an eye to understanding if the solution will simplify task such as installation and configuration, patching and upgrading, managing performance, etc. Will the offering fill a gap in system administration and management, security, or business process functionality. Will the cloud solution provide a means of lowering your total cost of ownership or help meet compliance requirements? When the answer is yes, the JD Edwards team prioritizes these best hybrid cloud opportunities and adds them to our roadmap and ultimately we provide choice and control so you can leverage cloud at when you need it, at the time and at a pace that makes sense for you.

The bottom line is that you have made a significant investment in JD Edwards, and for many of you that decision continues to be the right decision for your most important and core business operations – and we are committed to bringing you great choice and control via a hybrid cloud.

It’s important for us to address the concerns and pressures you face, so let’s begin by talking about the hard FACTS – the facts you need to plan your ERP, JD Edwards, and Oracle future strategies. Oracle:

• Continues to invest in JD Edwards – dedicated team plus the vast resources we leverage across many other Oracle development/product teams

• Has extended JDE product support timelines significantly – recently announced World A9.4 2025 (premier +extended) and E1 9.2 2028 premier + extended)

• Continues to sell JD Edwards. Oracle leads with their newest and latest products (cloud). Don’t you do the same? But that does not mean that you cannot purchase JDE. Oracle Digital and partners are often best first choice. Oracle Apps sales are often helpful for customers looking to extend/complement JDE with SaaS apps (warnings…..)

JD Edwards - Committed to:

• Enabling you to achieve your business objectives – We have an outstanding history of doing what we say we will do. Our customers trust us because of this track record. Look at what we have been delivering….we are listening!

• Helping you maximize your JDE investment – We talk to many customers, and many of you are not yet ready to replace JDE with Oracle Cloud….rip and replace is not a good option. We are working to help you maximize your JD Edwards investment, so we will continue to invest in JDE, continuing to enhance core ERP and our deep industry functionality, the User Experience which is so key in all business software today, in digital technologies solutions that will allow you be transform into a digital enterprise.

• Showing you how & when Cloud makes sense – Because cloud is not going away, and in fact I would bet most of you have some cloud in your business today (show of hands….Saleforce.com, Workday, Microsoft 360, etc.). Cloud can offer many great benefits, so some of investment is going to enabling practical journeys to the cloud…..a hybrid model. We get that and that’s where we have our cloud deepest investment designed to ensure that hybrid cloud is a practical productive option on your business journey -Where Agility and Innovation Meet Choice and Control.

Now that you know the facts, that Oracle and JD Edwards are continuing to invest in JD Edwards, that we are have a strategy to ensure JDE can be the backbone for your digital transformation, and the JD Edwards customers can often benefit from cloud solutions, let’s dig a little deeper and discuss more details about this.

Page 8: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

Your journey should be directed by your business needs and objectives. Depending upon your priorities, Oracle cloud may offer services complement JDE and provide solutions .

What are your Drivers and target outcomes? These will help direct your cloud path and journey

• Improve margins - effective customer & employee experience & engagement• Instant data driven decisions - JDE data aggregated with multiple data sources• Reduce risk of technology obsolescence – exit data center ownership• Lower cost - standardizing processes to improve operational efficiency• Align IT on LOB initiatives –eliminate Dev/Test Environment Management

Page 9: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

If your key business drivers include leveraging your existing JD Edwards and systems investments, Oracle SaaS applications are often an excellent choice for both complementing and extending JD Edwards functionality. Some of the best examples include the Oracle SaaS applications provide capabilities that are beyond the scope of JD Edwards of what is available in E1/World such as EPM, CX, and HCM.

Example;

JDE does not offer Marketing Automation, Field Service Scheduling and Route Optimization, Recruiting or learning Management – all which are available in the Oracle SaaS applications.

In some instances, integrating JDE with SaaS apps makes sense, and both JDE and Oracle SaaS Applications and PaaS solutions have been investing to ensure that integrations can be done reasonably, with low risk, and using proven standards based technologies.

8

Page 10: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

Now let’s discuss how to think about whether or not a specific SaaS application is a good candidate for coexistence with JD Edwards.

Coexistence makes the most sense where there are natural boundaries between the applications, and the functional overlap between the two products is not significant. Look for situations where the data exchange is straightforward and business process happens primarily within one solution or the other. These are scenarios that make sense for coexistence.

Some good examples are the JD Edwards and SaaS EPM, HCM, and Customer Experience (CX) applications. Also good candidates are many of the Oracle acquired products that were typically developed and sold as ERP bolt on solutions–such as, Taleo Recruiting, Oracle Transportation Management and many others. These solutions are available as SaaS applications.

Implementing two ERPs solution and integrating them requires a bit more consideration. Given the nature of the high levels of integration between modules/business processes within your on premise ERP and the associated benefits, adding a second ERP solution into the mix and integrating it can be tricky . While integrations might be possible, the cost of defining, developing and maintaining integrations between ERP solutions may be cost and complexity prohibitive. Therefore we urge a bit of caution and restraint in deploying ERP with ERP unless you have a clear understanding of the solution boundaries, process flows, and potential integration challenges.

Given that caution, there are several ERP coexistence use cases that make sense and that allow you to deploy ERP Cloud solutions with JDE. Key examples of these include: Procurement Sourcing Cloud, Procurement Contract Management Cloud and Innovation Management Cloud.

It should be noted that the use of the term coexistence and hybrid throughout this presentation does NOT an indicate of the existence and availability of enabled or Oracle packaged integration between the solutions. The goal is the presentation is to only help you understand which solutions make logical sense to deploy together. If there is some level of integration support between two solutions, I provide call that out.

9

Page 11: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

So what are the considerations in determining practical coexistence scenario?

Well, here are 3 major considerations that will help you determine if a particular SaaS application might be a good coexistence fit.

1. How functionally complete it the SaaS offering

2. Would the cloud applications require customizations to meet your needs

3. And what level of integration would be required in order for the coexistence model to really deliver the value you seek

Let’s look at each of these a little more deeply.

10

Page 12: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

It is important to consider the Completeness of the offering in to ensure the SaaS applications is fit for your purposes. For example, Is it functionally complete, does it support your manufacturing methods? Does it cover your global requirements and support your localization requirements for the regions where you operate?

Each SaaS application has it’s own level of maturity and functional depth and breath. You must ensure that the business process you use to run your business are available and sufficient to meet your needs. Look carefully at specific industry capabilities your require.

11

Page 13: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

The second point to consider is customization:

1. While you can extend public cloud applications, you do not have your own copy of the application code to modify.

2. Can you live with standard functionality and PaaS extensions. It is important to understand the difference between personalization, extension and customization. Oracle SaaS applications and PaaS do provide the ability to personalize and to extend applications, but changes to the core code is not supported in the cloud.

3. If you could live without current customizations if you where to a SaaS solution, then consider retiring them while still on JDE, as this will lower your current cost of maintaining them and will make JD Edwards upgrades and patching less costly and time consuming.

4. Be sure you have accounted for all code changes in JD Edwards during this stage of evaluation. If the custom or standard feature is important to your business and operations, you want to ensure that feature is available if you move to the SaaS solution.

12

Page 14: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

Integration needs must also be taken into account. And while not all hybrid deployments require significant integrations, many will require integration in order to reap the most benefit.

So here are some high-level points to help you understand which integrations are likely to yield satisfactory results.

• Validate that the integration between your on premise and cloud application is straightforward. This applies to your end state and to all intermediate states if you plan a phased migration project

• Look for natural and well established integration scenarios where the SaaS point solutions have made a successful businesses of integrating to ERP or HCM systems. When these applications are in the cloud, the integration remains viable. (key examples include Taleo, RightNow, Glog, Hyperion, Planning, etc.)

• Some integrations are natural because the integration is straightforward – meaning the transaction data flows are simple and the reference data synchronizations are minimal. A couple of representative examples would include SaaS applications such as Procurement Strategic Sourcing and Enterprise Performance Management.

• If you compare what is required to integrate Strategic Sourcing with ERP to What is required to integrate SaaS ERP or SaaS Manufacturing , you can see that there are not a lot of good places to split out core ERP or Manufacturing functions and distribute them across multiple products lines and multiple instances of ERP (some being on premise and some on cloud). It’s usually best to keep a business process within one solution when the steps in the business processes involve multiple and/or complex touch points and process flows crossing product boundaries.

Consider this test for an integration scenario: Would you consider deploying two district instances of JD Edwards and integrating them to accomplish a business process? Meaning part of the process would be done in 1 JD Edwards instance and the next step would preformed in the second instance, and you would build integration to support this functional division?

Or, If you were migrating from one vendor’s ERP to another, say SAP to Oracle, would you consider the proposed functional division? If the answer is no, then it’s likely that the scenario is not a good hybrid candidate.

There are alternatives to this type of business process or functional partitioning. Consider migrating some parts of the business to the cloud rather than coexistence: Examples might including moving all functions to the cloud for say a:

• Business unit

• Geography or an

• Acquired company

To be clear that Oracle and JD Edwards do not provide out of the box integrations to support all of the possible hybrid practical scenarios. Our history has taught is that we best serve our customers when we provide integration enablement so that customers can fashion the solution to best suite their needs. So next I want to talk about Integration enablement.

13

Page 15: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

With regards to potential integration opportunities, please think of integration enablement as a spectrum. Not every coexistence scenario needs the same type and level of integration. The spectrum of integration approaches is broad,. You will want to fully understand your use cases and define your integration requirements, and then select the right integration approach for each integration you plan to implement.

At the low end customers often SaaS applications stand alone - meaning there is no integration between the SaaS app and JD Edwards. There is little to no need for reference or transactional data to flow between the two solutions and thus no integration is really required. The applications stand alone yet coexist.

Then we have a white papers which document how to integrate point solutions using existing integration components. Think of these white papers as “cook books” to guide you through integrating the applications. Where there are published white papers, they cover the typical or common integration flows.

Integration Components are actual “things” we have delivered to enable integrations. Examples would include JD Edwards traditional tools such as Z tables for importing data, Exporting, EDI File definitions, UBEs supporting integrations, a large collection of Business and REST Services, Real Time Events, etc. You get the picture. Customer are partners use these and other JD Edwards technologies to develop integrations.

Any at the far end, JD Edwards (or other Oracle teams) sometimes develop and deliver specific integrations between applications. We are most likely to do this when there is very high customer demand and the integration use cases are generic and shared by many customers.

But even in these cases, it’s common for customers to want to modify or extend these integrations and there is rarely such as thing as “out of the box” integration. So due diligence and planning will also be required.

Packaged integrations are also definitely something our business partners can and do provide. Many partners integration solutions are validated in the Oracle Validated Integration program, helping to ensure that the integration works as planned, helping to reduce your risk.

14

Page 16: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

So, we have spent a bit of time talking about business value of process flows that JD Edwards delivers to our EnterpriseOne customers as that IS the first component of our integration platform.

Now, we are going to take a look at the remainder of the integration platform- those high value add components that enable you to address integration needs that fall outside of those that we deliver out of the box to you.

Yes, we have the right tools for your integration tasks……

15

Page 17: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

This slide speak to the fact that the deployment model (on premise or cloud) does not really change our ability to integrate)

The JD Edwards Integration Platform is designed to support modern businesses and all the applications theychose to run…and we are able to share information and enable business processes regardless of the application deployment models. It’s possible to have EnterpriseOne running on premise or in a cloud environment, and surround it with applications that are deployed on premise or in the cloud, providing you the flexibility you need in today’s modern software world. Select Oracle or other 3rd party applications as you see fit….

This is a simplified look at what many of our customers’ business and IT configurations look like.

JD Edwards makes it easy for you bring other products into the mix as needed by supporting a variety of tools and technologies that enable you to deploy interoperability in a way that fits the specific need. We do not use a hammer for every task, but provide an array of tools and solutions that make sense.

16

Page 18: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

So as we dive deeper into our Integration Platform, it bears stating that integration needs vary from simple to complex, and there is a range of factors that determine what type of integration you actually need between any two applications. Understanding the integration requirements will help you select the right EnterpriseOne Integration Tool for the task.

Some of the most common integration considerations include:

• How time sensitive is the data flow requirement? Is an overnight batch load good enough, or is data needed across application in near real time or real time?

• How many touch points or process flows need to be provided?

• Do both systems leverage and share the same standards based integration technologies? If not, how will you bridge that gap?

• Is the data simple of complex? Is data cleansing and transformation needed?

• Who are the users/consumers of the integration and what is their role….this may color how sophisticated the integration really needs to be…

• Could a simple user defined mash-up (composite applications) provide a quick and dirty integration?

• Is it a Machine-to-Machine (also know as Internet of Things) connection?

In order for business needs to be met while balancing demand on infrastructure/IT cost, each connection needs to be evaluated on these points, and a smart plan developed.

With JD Edwards, you can select an integration approach and technology that makes sense for each project

17

Page 19: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

18

There are 3 tiers in our Integration Platform we would like to introduce you to:

The first is what we refer to as our “productized integrations”.

• These integration are typically between JD Edwards and another Oracle product. We have done the evaluations to understand the logical, common and repeatable business processes that our joint customers will likely have. We have then developed and delivered starter integrations using the appropriate JD Edwards and Oracle integration technologies.

• And while these integrations are a huge jump start for our customers, it is important to acknowledge that no two integration projects will look exactly the same and customers will need to evaluate the starter integrations for fit in their specific business

• Customers and partners can use these starter integrations and extend them as they find desirable.

• Second, we also provide a set of business interfaces – enabling, reusable integration code in a variety of forms that are available for your use

• Examples include SOA WEB and REST services, Real-Time Events that trigger outbound transactions, batch processes in support of many types of data importing/exporting, etc. Even our mobile applications should be viewed as an interface into our backend applications. Customers today can create on the fly mashups wherein outside applications are embedded within EnterpriseOne surface contextual information and data from outside applications. We continue to evolve our technology platform with these type of lead edge integration approaches.

• The third item is integration facilitation, which refers to specialized documentation we publish to assist customers and partners with the creation of integrations. For example, we may have integration elements available in the for of WEB services, but we have not delivered a productized integration between two specific point solution, but we have provided a detail cook book describing how to use the elements to build the integration in your environment.

Ultimately business requirements must drive the solution and evaluating the various choices while understanding technical capabilities as well as limitations will be essential to your success. To assist you in the process, Oracle’s large ecosystem of partners, from system integrators to independent software vendors, provide additional opportunities for customers to leverage their experience and our technology and applications to meet their specific business requirements. In some cases, Oracle’s partners have created value added integrations based on our integration guidelines. Partners that have developed integrations or add on modules using the EnterpriseOne tools set, AND have verified their solutions with Oracle are part of the Oracle Validated Integrations program. The program helps customers identify partners that have used Oracle standards and processes for developing integrations and/or add on solutions, and Oracle verifies that the integrations work as advertised.

Page 20: today. ut, it is important that you understand that the ......well beyond delivering SaaS based business application, and is committed to delivering highly innovative and competitive

The next couple of slides go to the next level of details of the Integration Platform and they are somewhat more technical in nature. Be assured we are not going to try to make techies out of the business people in the audience today, but to outline the integration technologies choices that our customers enjoy, with a hint as to the use cases when each of the technologies might be employed to achieve a specific integration need.

First, customers use our various Batch processes to enable system to system integration when real time data exchange/updates are not required. Batch methods include a simple import or export for any of our applications data input forms/grids, importing into our staging tables – we refer to them as Z Tables, using EDI batch loads and Oracle Data Integrator solution

Point to Point (or system to system integration) can also be accomplished using the EnterpriseOne tools for XML, Java, COM, and C++ code

Near Real Time integration is also possible via our Real-Time Events which basically trigger outbound messages for other systems to listen for and pick up. EnterpriseOne leverages Oracle SOA suite and provides WEB services to enable many common integration use cases.

To a large extent, we have been discussing integration technologies and methods that have been around for a while. But it’s important to note that newer disruptive technologies are changing the way we expect our ERP (back office) solutions to interact/interface with these new technologies/solutions……..

The reality is that new technologies are redefining the integration concepts we have long held, and are leading us to view technologies such as wearables, sensors and beacons as systems that must integrate to traditional ERP in near or real time, while also providing a compelling user UI/Experiences where applicable.

Mobility of course is in this group of disrupting technologies and JD Edwards was the first ERP solution to run (every application) on the iPad. And we have quickly delivered dozens of fit for purpose mobile applications, provided tools to extend our mobile apps and technologies to enable you to build your own mobile applications. Next up for us are disconnected mobile applications. We understand that mobile IS how business gets done and we are proud to have been early leaders in delivering mobile solutions

Given the value that wearable and IoT will bring to businesses and others still to come, we are just as committed to embracing these new technologies as part of our over-arching integration framework. We are planning and are well down the path to delivering a IoT platform that will support integrations with wearables, sensors and beacons.

JD Edwards Strategy’s research identified these as the most practical and high demand coexistence scenarios at this time. As you can see, there are coexistence opportunities in each of the Product pillar (note the Pillars are identified in the Red Bands in the column headings).

In this segment, the focus will be on the Oracle SaaS applications that fall within the Customer Experience (CX) Pillar – the products shown in the last column . The other products shown from other Pillars are provided simply for your reference and discussion is covered in other sessions.

While not all of these products have existing integration enablement available today, there are still quite a few customers (and in some cases dozens of) that use these products along side JDE. The “*’s” indicates functional areas where some level on integration enablement already exist. Customers and partners can leverage JD Edwards, Oracle and other technologies to integrate solutions in a fashion that best meet your needs.

From the ERP space, we consider a subset of Financials, Procurement Cloud and Project Portfolio Management (referred to as PPM) to be the best coexistence opportunities. While there are quite a few other SaaS offerings in the ERP pillar, many of them have significant functional overlap with the JD Edwards products and do to the tight integration within JD Edwards and robustness of the E1 solutions, plugging in elements from the SaaS offering just does not make a lot of sense most of the time. With that in mind, I will now tell you more about the practical hybrid cloud services.

Projects –hybrid options for JDE:

Project management

• Project Execution (project tracking – which is project management (yes for JDE). As part of this, workers can update their tasks and collaborate, and it comes with resource management

Not practical: Fin Project management (costing billing performance contracts and it requires running cloud fin and procurement, etc.
