What is an Infotype?

Definition:A logical grouping of information. An infotype in SAP is comparable to what an end user would view on a DEC screen. Infotypes are located on an employee’s master data.

PA: Infotype 0000 - Actions

Description: This infotype shows the type of personnel actionand status of employee.

Processed in SAP:

Processed in DEC: Replaces the information enteredon DEC screens E352 and E353 and assignment changes entered into e-RPA.

Processed in SAP: Using the Display function will show a history of actions as created in PA 40.

The Display function on each infotype will show the history of information on that infotype.

PA: Infotype 0001 – Organizational Assignment

Description: This infotype incorporates the employee’s enterprise and personnel structure into an assignment. These structures include information on location, bargaining unit, status, basis, and overtime eligibility.

Processed in DEC:Equivalent of DEC screen E353 and New Assignments entered into e-RPA.

Processed in SAP:Required fields include: Subarea, Funds Center, and Payroll Area.

PA: Infotype 0002 – Personal Data

Mary Dolan

Description: This infotype shows the personal data on an employee including birth date, gender, marital status, and number of dependent children.

Processed in DEC: Replaces information entered on DEC E352.

Processed in SAP: Depending upon the information enteredinto Marital Status and Number of Children, a dynamic action will occur tothe benefits enrollment infotypes for eligible employees.

BN: Infotype 0167 – Health Plans Overview

Isabel Alejandro

Description: This infotype list all the health plans an employee is currently enrolled in. Health plans are medical, dental and vision.

Processed in DEC:Replaces the information shown on DEC Screen E003.

Processed in SAP:Upon completion of benefits enrollment, this infotype is updated to show the employee’s health plans enrollment.

BN: Infotype 0167 – Health Plans

Description: IT 0167 provides the details of the employee’s enrollment in health plans.

Processed in DEC:Replaces the information shown on DEC Screen E003 and E016.

Processed in SAP:In addition to plan enrollment, this IT has the effective date of enrollment, dependents covered, cost and adjustment reason.

Processed in SAP:Upon completion of benefits enrollment, this infotype is updated to show the employee’s insurance plans enrollment.

Description: This infotype lists all the savings plans an employee is currently enrolled in. Savings plans include the retirement plans and tax shelter annuities.

Processed in SAP:Upon completion of benefits enrollment, this infotype is updated to show the employee’s savings plans enrollment.

Description: This infotype provides the details of the employee’s enrollment in savings plans.

Processed in DEC:Replaces the information shown on DEC Screen 004.

Processed in SAP:In addition to plan enrollment, this IT has the effective date of enrollment and contribution percentage.

TM: Infotype 0007 – Planned Working Time

Description: The work schedule rule determines which period work schedule is used to set up the work schedule, and the day of the period as of which it applies. A period work schedule ismade up of a sequence of daily work schedule over a defines period. Period work schedules can extend over one week, several weeks, or a period that is not divisible by seven.

Processed in DEC:Currently DEC does not store work schedules but the system is uploaded with pre-stored timecards. Only the employee’s immediate supervisor knows the work schedule that an employee works each week.

Processed in SAP:Work schedules will be in the system for each employee at the different sites.

PY: Infotype 0008 – Basic Pay

Michael Phillips

Description: This infotype list an employee’s base pay (monthly rate for salaried employees and hourly rate for hourly employees). Differentials that the employee is eligible for are automatically defaulted onto the infotype with the proper amount. The employee’s pay scale structure, annual salary, and monthly work hours are also defaulted on this infotype.

Processed in DEC:Information is stored on DEC screen E008.

Processed in SAP:The employee’s base pay is defaulted based on the employee’s Pay Scale Structure assignment. The monthly salary is a total of the regular salary plus any differentials that are applicable. The annual salary is generated based on the employee’s payment model (10 or 12) located on infotype 0016.

PY: Infotype 0014 – Recurring Payments and Deductions

Description: This infotype is used to generate any recurring payments or deductions (i.e. charitable contributions, unions dues, etc.)

Processed in DEC:Information is currently stored in DEC screen E003 under the drop down list.

Processed in SAP:The length of payment is determined by the start and end date on the infotype specified by the end user. The amount can be manually entered by the end user.

PY: Infotype 0015 – Additional Payments

Description: This infotype is used to generate any one time payments or deductions (i.e. bonuses, refund payments, etc.)

Processed in DEC:The current process for one time payments is through the creation of a pay batch .

Processed in SAP:End user must specify the wage type and amount of the payment or deduction.
