Project Objectives

1. Significantly reduce paperwork for notification.

(Optional tool for route recording and

submitting – not planning).

2. Intuitive & easy to use first time for all levels.

3. A useful tool for DofE Assessors checking

routes and route cards.

4. Free and automatically updates.

eDofE mapping is build using Microsoft technology so will not work on mac

in 2012.

You will need to install Microsoft Silverlight.

eDofE Mapping will always work best through up to date Internet Explorer

and with a fast internet connection.

To make the route you are creating accurate –

USE LOTS OF WAYPOINTS

The more points you put in the more accurate your

distance calculation will be in the route card and the

more accurate your elevation profile will be.

(note- routes imported from Memory Map often have only a few points so

more will need to be added).

What next?

1. Save and print route map and route card JPG.

2. Save and e-mail route map and rote card JPG.

3. E-mail interactive read only file.

4. Notify leaders in eDofE that a route is ready.

Leaders can review participant’s routes.

5. Upload as evidence into eDofE as JPG.

6. Download as GPX file into as a back up

and to use in other mapping other systems.

7. Upload GPX files from other systems into

eDofE mapping.

Important!

Once you log out of a map it takes time for eDofE to

update its link to the Satmap file in the database.

This should not take longer than a minute but may

take up to 23 minutes for some users.

We recommend you can save a GPX copy to your

computer, before exiting, so you can access the map

quickly if necessary.
