PRESS RELEASE (Vaughan, ON, January 15, 2013)

Top-5 Finishes for Team Rockstar Energy Polaris Racing in Cochrane

Team Rockstar Energy Polaris Racing’s Iain Hayden, Lee Butler, and Jacob Rosko-Fong

delivered noteworthy top-five results at Round 2 of the CSRA National Snowcross

Championship series, which was held in Cochrane, Ontario this past weekend.

While neither Hayden, Butler, nor Rosko-Fong were able to claim a win in the finals, all

three drivers took their Polaris IQ sleds to victory in their qualifiers: Hayden and Butler

in the premiere Pro Open Mod class—Rosko-Fong in the Pro Lite Stock class.

In his first Saturday qualifier, defending Pro Open National Champion Iain Hayden

started in third place, settled there, and would finish in that position. In his second

qualifier, he nailed down the holeshot and led wire-to-wire.

Saturday’s final saw

Hayden dive into the

first corner in fifth place

and pour on the gas to

quickly pass for fourth,

to then set his sights on

third place.

Unfortunately, he got

tipped over while

making the pass for

third. By the time he

managed to rejoin the

fray he was in last

place, half a lap down.

True to form, Hayden

pulled out all the stops

to make up for lost ground and powered his explosive IQ to a third place by the time the

checkered flag was waved.

On Sunday, Hayden delivered a rerun of the previous day’s qualifiers, booking 3-1

results. In the final, the result was the same story as on Saturday, too, but this time he had

to fight tooth-and-nail for a podium finish, after breaking a runner on his sled. Despite the

handicap, Hayden managed to hold on to third place from start to finish.

“The competition proved to be extra tough this weekend. Everybody seemed to be on top

of their game. The track was tight and hard to pass on, so it was critical to get the

holeshot if you had

any hopes of winning.

I didn’t finish the

finals where I wanted

to, but I think I rode

well both days and I

scored some valuable

points towards the

championship,”

Hayden said.

Butler kept Team

Rockstar Energy

Polaris Racing in the

mix with 2-4 qualifier

results and a fourth

place finish, just behind Hayden, in the final on Saturday. On Sunday, he shot out of the

gate to win his first qualifier and then take home a third place finish in his second

qualifier. As on the day before, Butler again trailed his teammate to the finish line to

hammer down fourth in the final.

“I had expected a bit more of myself on both days, but I just couldn’t quite get into the

groove. The IQ performed as it should have, it was me who was off the pace. I guess I

was still shaking off a bit of racing rust from the break in the schedule. I’m already

looking forward to the next race this weekend,” Butler said.

Despite feeling under the weather, Rosko-Fong rose to the occasion at the Cochrane Gold

Cup Snowcross—especially in Sunday’s event—to record his first Pro Lite Stock heat

wins of the season.

Saturday’s qualifiers and final proved to be a bit of a challenge for the ailing up-and-

comer: in the first heat, he crashed and greeted the checkered flag in eighth place. In the

second qualifier, he finished a solid second. In the final, having started on the back row

and with his stamina fading, he still managed to run mid-pack, crossing the finish line in

eighth place.

On Sunday Rosko-Fong came out swinging: he nailed down definitive wins in both his

qualifiers and, after a mediocre start, went on to battle his way to a respectable fourth

place finish in the final.

“I would have to say that coming down with the flue didn’t help much this weekend, but

there was no way that I was going to sit on the sidelines. I just went out there and focused

on what I had to do and put being sick on hold for a while,” Rosko-Fong said.
