Top 9 Booths at Expo Jamaica

In search of the best booth, the Market Me Team found our way into the exclusive Expo Jamaica showingand visited every booth. We spoke to reps (when they were willing), sampled products (when they wereavailable) and came up with the top 9 booths out of the over 50 brands and companies that showed up!

Moving into the weekend we have a couple recommendations for booth-holders:

Have samples - Make sure everyone walks away with something when they come to your booth,otherwise they will just forget you as one of the other million set-ups.Walk the floor - peak our interest from before we get to you by walking around and giving outsamples/flyers.Engage everyone - reps need to be fully coached to engage and reach out to persons walking by. Manytimes persons get interested after talking about a product and learning about how and where yourproduct is made.

Without further wait, here are our top 9 booths and why they made the list!

9. ExcelsiorGreeted by lovely ladies dressed in outfits we thought resembled what the Jamaican bobsled teamwould’ve worn, this booth had on display a wide array of snacks- from sweet to savoury. They handed usgoodie bags packed with their “Crunch” Cookies which not only had a brand new packaging but newflavours: Ginger, Lemon and chocolate!

8. FlowMaking up for a lack in engagement, the Flow booth had one very redeeming quality which made it landon our list. The life-size projection of Sanneta Myrie greeting passers by to the booth excited almosteveryone when they saw it for the first time. The clean futuristic concept buildout kept you circling andsearching for more, but a lack of persons manning and engaging the audience meant that after taking theobligatory selfie with the beauty queen, there was nothing else to keep you there.

7. Victoria Farmers

One word, BACON.

Attracted by the scent of ham, bacon and sausages, we found the Victoria Farm processing company.They rep there approached us right away and the free samples of bacon and jerk sausage pasta kept usinterested in everything she had to say.

Owned by parent company Spanish Grain Store Ltd, Victoria Farms’ products are locally made at theirfarm in Victoria, Manchester.

6. St. Mary'sWe are a lover of most things produced by this company… Although they did not have breadfruit chipsavailable we were excited to see that the cassava chips now come in a larger packaging. The more themerrier.

5. Red StripeWell if you like sports and you like beer they you will probably stop by Red Stripes booth and not leave forthe entire time. Designed for the reluctant husband or boyfriend being dragged to another shoppingexperience, the bar is tribute to the holy matrimony between sports and beer. Stop by and sip on theirlatest flavours, and if you’re not into beer, there’s also Malta for a picker-upper to continue youradventure.

4. JPSWelcome to the future - we’re so close albeit smack in the middle of the era of the “Internet of things”where soon, we’ll be able to take the trash out via an app on our phones.

Energy Solutions, JPS wants to move us closer in that direction and had on display at their “Smart City”booth, a hybrid car which could go about 32 miles on charge alone!

However, if you’re not into electric cars and stuff, we know you would still love their charging station, forall the persons addicted to their forever-dying cell phones.

3. LascoEverything was up for sample in this booth (hint hint brands). We were able to try out the new Ice Dreamproduct which has a super simple 3 step process- add water, mix and freeze. Each package makes abouta pint of ice cream and though the only available flavours on the market now are Vanilla and Chocolate,the product is extremely versatile and can be used to mix and create a wide range of different blends. So,shake things up and add peanuts or raisins to make ice dream a little more interesting.

2. CB Foods’ ‘The Village’Caribbean Broilers found an amazing way to incorporate almost all their food brands under one blendedexecution. They had a meal for anyone including: Smart Eggs salads; Bad Dawgs signature hot dogs;Caribbean Passions chorizo, Italian or jerk sausage pasta; Copperwoods' pork-belly red peas soup,barby-jerk country style ribs and; CB Chickens pumpkin Soup. The draped canopy roofing provided theperfect amount of shade for the guests and the music courtesy of the DJ in his elevated booth made theaffair lively and entertaining.

1. B&D Trawling From the deck below we spotted this eye-catching booth fitted with sailor stools, fishing nets andlifejackets just like a shipping vessel. Once up close you notice the lobsters crawling over each other inthe aquariums trying their best to get in your selfie! It’s a rare and mesmerizing sight to see these strangehard shelled creatures alive and up close. Just staring at them we felt like we drifted away to the DubaiAquarium.

This is the wow moment we were looking for!

Inside the booth you can see the full line of B&D Trawling products, take a break at their lounge area orjust read up on everything they do. The reps were so pleasant (even though they were so busy witheveryone else).
