SPORTS REPORT Congratulations to Eden who has been selected, for the second consecutive year, to represent the Hunter Region in the PSSA State Cricket. Monday’s trial in Newcastle saw more than three times the number of participants in 2018. Eden was one of the younger competitors selected from a huge pool of talent to represent the Hunter Region. The DPS community looks forward to following the Hunter side’s success again this year when they compete at the NSW PSSA Girl’s Cricket Championships in Campbelltown during Week 3 of Term 4.

KIRKLAND CUP On Tuesday, the Under 10s Rugby League team travelled to Singleton to compete for the prestigious Bryan Kirkland Cup. The boys were outstanding in all their games. They won all three pool games, without conceding a single try to finish on top of their pool. This meant they then progressed to the final where they faced the winner of the other pool, St Mary’s, Scone. The team combined superbly in attack and continued their fierce defence. When the final whistle sounded, DPS were victorious with an impressive score of 16-4 and were the overall winners of the Bryan Kirkland Cup. Congratulations Jonathan, Blaney, Theo, Jade, Bailey, Brodie, Dawson, Tyson, Ajay, Keedan, Dillon, Braydan, Archie and Eddy. Thank you to the parents for transporting the players and for all your help and support throughout the day. Thank you to Lindsay Duggan for running water during all the games.

Zone Athletics ribbons will be presented at the Week 9 assembly!

TELL THEM FROM ME - PARENT SURVEY This Term, our school will be participating in the Partners in Learning parent survey, another part of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys (student, teacher and parent surveys) on student engagement. The survey asks parents and carers questions about different factors that are known to impact on student wellbeing and engagement. Feedback from families will help our school understand families perspectives on their child’s experience at school including communication between families and staff, activities and practices at home and family views on the school's support of learning and behaviour, providing valuable feedback to help our school make practical improvements. The survey is conducted entirely online on smartphones, iPads, tablets, laptops or computers, typically take 15 minutes or less to complete and is confidential. The parent survey will be conducted from now until 27th September. Participating in the survey is voluntary and your responses are very much appreciated. More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au. To access the parent survey for our school go to: http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/5b7mv
