At a party or gathering, when you bring out a fun surprise, guests are momentarily caught off guard and there is a sharing of wonderment, a delicious moment when everyone connects in fun and laughter. I discovered Wish Papers in Italy in the 1960s. After dinner, we each rolled a cookie wrapper into a cylinder shape, placed it on a plate and lit them. The ash magically lifted upwards high. We caught the ash confirming our wish would come true. It did.
