A MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF PEACE: Commemorating the 70 TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE END OF WORLD WAR II and the 150 TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE END OF THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR May 26 – 28, 2015 (2 nights/3 days) Day 1 Tuesday, May 26 th , 2015 (D) 7:00am Depart from Marist College 1:00pm Afternoon arrival in Washington, D.C. 2:00pm Visit the Spy Museum Check into the Arlington Court Suites Hotel 6:30pm Dinner at Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant Take an evening walking tour of the Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, and National World War II Memorials Return to the hotel for overnight Day 2 Wednesday, May 27 th (B, D) 8:00am Breakfast at the hotel 9:00am Morning free to tour the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Take a tour of one of the Smithsonian Institution Museums (individual choice) Lunch, on own Visit the Botanical Gardens (individual choice) Visit Capitol Hill and see the Supreme Court and Capitol buildings Marist College Chamber Choir formal concert as part of the National Festival of the States 9:00pm Dinner at the Greene Turtle 11:00pm Bus transfer back to the hotel from the Verizon Center in front of the Greene Turtle Return to the hotel for overnight Day 3 Thursday, May 28 th (B) 8:00am Breakfast at the hotel Hotel check-out and board motorcoach School visits/exchange performance opportunities with local High School(s) Marist College Chamber Choir Mass participation at local parish Lunch, on own Visit the Iwo Jima Memorial and then visit Arlington National Cemetery and view the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Visit the 9-11 Pentagon Memorial 4:00pm Afternoon departure for home This is a very flexible itinerary. Except for confirmed appointments and performances, the places of interest and the sequence of sightseeing might be changed if necessary or desirable. In the event of an unavoidable conflict in the performance and the sightseeing schedule, the concert schedule will prevail, and it may be necessary to exclude some sightseeing activities. © Music Celebrations International
