“Although there has been a change in ownership, you’ll still see the same familiar faces of your friends and neighbors in the dealership. It’s the same team with the same goals of serving the community and exceeding customer expectations. I personally am committed to building the new and used inventory to offer the community the selection it deserves”, said John Buelow, the new owner of Flagship Ford of Baldwin.

John has 20 years in the car business and looks forward to meeting each and every Flagship Ford customer. He has been married to his wife Nicole for 23 years and they have four children, ages 13-21. John’s 16-year old Cole is following in his father’s footsteps. He currently works as a detailer in the clean-up department.

There are several exciting changes in the coming months including the opening of Quick Lane, which will serve all makes and model vehicles. The projected opening is early March with hopes to be fully operational the first week in April. The expansion will help expedite customer service and routine maintenance.

There are also several facility upgrades coming. John

says, “We’re going Green!” There are plans to change the exterior lighting to brighter LED lighting for efficiency purposes and so customers can see better. They will also repurpose waste oils when they convert the shop’s heating source to waste oil burners.

In the near future, watch for exterior changes as well. Flagship Ford will upgrade its exterior to Ford’s current standard.

John is excited to talk about his plans of increasing square footage in the main dealership facility too. Over the next several months, Flagship Ford will be creating additional jobs and will be looking to hire about 8 new employees!

As a locally owned and operated full-service dealership with parts & service departments they strive to provide honest, high-quality auto repair and maintenance services. Their experienced and knowledgeable sales staff will help you find the vehicle that best fits your need and budget.

You can reach John Buelow, or any team member of Flagship Ford of Baldwin online at www.flagshipford.com or by phone at 715-684-4520.

ReStore -St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity is located at 801 Wagner Drive in Roberts across from Dollar General. The St. Croix Valley store opened their New Richmond location in April 2010 and moved to Roberts in May 2016. The River Falls location moved in with the Roberts location this past August 2017. They now serve the St. Croix Valley area that includes Roberts, Hammond, River Falls, Hudson, and New Richmond. ReStore Roberts became a chamber member in the summer of 2016. Watch for sale/party information during the week of May 21st. ReStore will be celebrating their 2nd anniversary at the Roberts location and the 8th anniversary of the first ReStore location opening in the area. This year, Brandon Patterson has joined the staff at ReStore. Brandon is from the Americorps VISTA program which works to fight poverty and social inequality. VISTA was founded in 1965 under President John F. Kennedy and was folded into Americorp in 1993. Brandon found and researched the program online and after applying was sworn in at the Milwaukee office and will work for the next year with the St. Croix and Pierce County affiliate. Brandon says he has learned a wide variety of issues within the St. Croix and Pierce County region. He says, “The housing demand for the impoverished that claims up to 1/3 or more of their income just for rent is one of the things that has stood out to me the most. It’s rather ludicrous, and I love the mission that Habitat For Humanity has to help fix that.”

He has also learned through the VISTA program administrative skills such as communications, outreach, grant-writing, and fundraising in general. During his time at ReStore, he is the capacity builder for the affiliate and will work with the office staff mainly in charge of community outreach, researching and utilizing ways to increase funding, as well as increasing the volunteer base.ReStore is a lot like the “Goodwill” of home goods. The money they raise from their sales goes into the Habitat for Humanity organization. Community members, contractors, remodelers and suppliers can donate everything from furniture, light fixtures, doors, hardware, patio furniture and so many other things. It’s a perfect place to shop, saving you money on your home projects and helping the community at the same time.Currently, the need for items include furniture and building supplies. If you have these items to donate, or have questions, please contact them at 715-760-3456. They are currently open Tuesday through Saturday 9am-

5pm. Donation hours are Tuesday through Friday 9am-4pm and Saturday 9am-Noon.The St. Croix Valley chapter of Habitat for Humanity is going to start building a new Habitat home in Hammond this spring for a local family. Groundbreaking is planned for April 2018, weather pending. Volunteers will be needed, please contact ReStore if you are interested.

With every great business comes the need to present that business in the best way possible to the public. That is where ASIL Design can help.ASIL Design was established in 2009 by graphic designer/owner Lisa Christensen. The heart of her work is delivering powerful advertising and marketing messages through her artful designs, highlighting businesses in a way that makes them stand out.Projects include everything from fresh logo designs to postcards, business cards and flyers. ASIL’s main emphasis is designing quality marketing materials, though Christensen has experience in diverse design styles, printing, online graphics, website design, signage design and promotional products.Christensen began her career with RiverTown Multimedia, and honed her skill set even further at Central St. Croix News, both of which played major roles in her connection to the Hammond and Roberts communities and a natural progression to her own graphic design business.Christensen founded two publications under the umbrella of ASIL Design, including Local BIZ, a small advertiser focused publication that markets local businesses to local people, and the Central St. Croix Community Guide, an annual publication highlighting the unique offerings in the Heart of St. Croix County. ASIL just celebrated the 10th publication of the community guide in conjunction with RiverTown Multimedia.Real estate marketing design has been a huge part of the success of ASIL Design. Christensen works with area realtors to created branded materials helping agents stand out from the competition. She also created two magazines for Edina Realty: one for the Hudson/River Falls offices and one for the “Up North” region, focusing on Edina offices in Siren and St. Croix Falls.

Christensen not only has experience working with area media companies, but other advertising and marketing agencies as well; this has created lasting relationships, referrals and repeat business from satisfied customers.Christensen has been with the Central St. Croix Area Chamber from the beginning sitting on the board of directors for 10 years. She was also the Chamber President in 2016 and has earned the award of “Chamber Member of the Year” in 2013 and is the current winner for 2017. Her contributions to the chamber include creating the chamber logo, creating and maintaining the first chamber website, designing the quarterly newsletter and event marketing materials and creating and maintaining the chamber E-Blasts that are sent to members regularly.
