Interesting facts about Mount Everest:

• It has the highest mountain peak above sea level—about 8,848 meters (29,029 feet).

• It is located on the border of Tibet (in China) and Nepal.

• The summit is rock and has snow on it year round.

• Though a very dangerous climb, nearly 1,000 people try to climb it every year, with around 500 making it to the summit.

• The deepest part is approximately 1,857 meters (6,093 feet) deep.

• The Colorado River flows through the Grand Canyon.

• It is located in the state of Arizona in the USA.
