I want to thank all of you who welcomed me and made me feel at home. Whilst my time here has been quite challenging due to the craziness of 2020, I have enjoyed working with your children and getting to know them in the limited time we’ve had. Towamba certainly is a very special place with very special people. As I say farewell to you all, please know that I wish each and everyone of you the very best for the future. As I now sign off for the final time, we welcome Ms Fiona Bea- sley who will take on the Relieving Principal role. I believe that Ms Beasley will do an extraordinary job and take on the position with enthusiasm. Ms Beasley brings with her a wealth of expe- rience and is excited about the new journey she is about to embark on. Farewell Towamba PS! I’m sure I will be hearing great things about you all in the future! Take care Sarah The School Photographer is still finalising our school photos and family orders will be arriving soon, but they have provided this school photo early for use in this newsletter. Reminders

Message from the PrincipalDear Parents,

My time at Towamba PS has come to end.

As I now sign off for the final time, we welcome Ms Fiona Bea-sley who will take on the Relieving Principal role. I believe that Ms Beasley will do an extraordinary job and take on the position with enthusiasm. Ms Beasley brings with her a wealth of expe-rience and is excited about the new journey she is about to embark on.

Farewell Towamba PS! I’m sure I will be hearing great things about you all in the future!

Take care

Sarah

Looking after each other when back at school• Please remember to pack a drink bottle for your child as the

bubblers are not in use

• please ensure your child is dressed warmly - jumpers and even beanies.

• Please consider our staff and pack lunch that does NOT re-quire heating as this is not an option.

• Remember that Friday lunch orders are ot happening yet

• School banking will not resume until we have been notified

• Please do not send your child to school if they are unwell

• Students who are unwell at school will be sent home

• No additional non-essential visitors due to the department guidelines - unfortunately this means no volunteers

• Parents must sign students if arriving late but ideally arrive on time so that social distancing measures are easier

DymocksOur school has received a generous donation from Dymocks and we should see some new books for the library and for the students and younger siblings arriving at our school very soon!

A Quilt for winterThe Bowral CWA have been working together with the Eden CWA and the Bowral women have made our school 20 single bed quilts! Every student will be receiving a new home made quilt- an amazing gift from the Bowral CWA. The women would like to visit our school to present the quilts but at present that is not permissa-ble due to the Department guidelines, so in the meantime we can plan maybe a thank you morning tea!

Gifts from the Rotary Clubs of the Bega ValleyIt was great fun having three police officers visit our school last week to deliver the box of books and gifts from the combined Ro-tary clubs of the Bega Valley. We hope to distribute these to fami-lies soon. It was a great opportunity for some fun games together.NewsletterRemember that every Thursday there is a new newsletter, and our school newsletter is our main communication tool. Please ask your student for it, or check their bag on a Thursday! We also email it to those who have requested to be on ournewsletter email list.Let us know if you want to be on it.Our new school app!We are soon to be introducing Skool Loop- a very useful school app that will enhance communication for our families. Load the free app onto your phone and stay in the loop!

• contains the newsletter each week

• school can send out messages

• parents can contact the school

• parents can notify the school of absences via the app

• event calendar (once we have things planned again)

• excursion permission notes

P&C NewsFireflies MeetingAll interested people are invited to attend a special Fireflies meet-ing next Thursday - to discuss canvas prints and sales.

All welcome. Venue and time to be advised. Contact Karen N or Steph for more information.

Attached are a summary of emails received so far regarding interest in the artwork (awesome work artists!), some canvas print budget ideas for discussion at the meeting, and a copy of a letter received.

Term 2 P&C MeetingStay tuned for information on when our Term 2 P&C Meeting will be held.

Lunch OrdersLunch orders on a Friday will not be resuming at this stage until further decisions are made.

Commonwealth Bank GrantThe new P&C BBQ has been ordered using the Commonwealth Bank grant- hopefully we can use it soon!

Upcoming staff changesThurs 28 May Mrs Macey on class 4-6, Mrs Binns with Ms Beasley

Once you have loaded the app, select our school and you are ready to go!

Skool Loop will be the app for administration and school commu-nication, and Seesaw will still be the communication for teachers and students and families.

The idea of making a school app with a mis-spelt name is crazy though!

Waste Free WednesdaysNow we can all get back into Waste Free Wednesdays again! Bring a lunch free of excess packaging and you score a wildcard!

Family UpdatesUpdate packs were sent home last week to the few families yet to bring back the updates sent home last term. Please return at your earliest convenience.

Fireflies on displayArtworks currently on display at Wild Ryes and the Common-wealth Bank are being featured on the school Facebook page with a little more of the back story. Thanks to Priscilla, Bianca, Vicki and Nicci for the photos that help tell the story of these amazing pieces of art. The aim is to have all artworks on display over the next couple of months. Thanks to the team organising and co-ordinating the changeovers.

Return letters from the Fireflies cards mailed out have been gradu-ally coming in too, and don’t forget the online gallery is only there until June 19 https://linktr.ee/begavalleyregionalgallery
