At first, everyone spoke the same language so they could all worship god with the same words. After the flood and the people needed to repopulate the earth. But instead of spreading around the world they all stayed near each other in one city.

Basic Summary

Sodom and Gomorrah were two of the five ancient cities that formed the “cities of plain.” Later they became places of evil because of the bad things that occurred there.
