The District School Board of Niagara has requested that the Town initiate the necessary Official Plan and Zoning By-law amendments to redevelop the underutilized sites for their highest and best use. WHAT THIS AMENDMENT WILL CHANGE: The proposed Official Plan Amendment will change the designation of the subject lands from Institutional to a site specific policy area to permit certain Institutional uses in addition to residential uses. The proposed Zoning by-law amendment will change the zoning of the subject lands from Institutional to site specific Residential Multiple 1 RM1 Zone which would permit a variety of residential uses including single detached, semi-detached, townhouse dwellings and 3 storey apartments as well as institutional uses such as a community centre, nursing home, etc. LEGAL NOTICE The Town of Fort Erie has not yet made a decision regarding this application. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Fort Erie in respect of the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law amendment before the By-laws are passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Town of Fort Erie to the Ontario Municipal Board. 2017 Wastewater Master Plan andPollution Prevention Control Plan Study Update

What is this Study All About?The Town of Fort Erie has initiated the 2017 Wastewater Master Plan and PollutionPrevention Control Plan Study Update. This Update will serve as a prioritized actionplan for the Town to improve customer service levels and support long-term growth andsustainability of the Town’s wastewater infrastructure.

How is this Study Being Undertaken?The Master Plan and Pollution Prevention Control Plan Study Update are intendedto satisfy requirements Phases 1 and 2 of the EA Process of the Municipal ClassEnvironmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 and 2015), whichis an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

Residents Invited to attend Public Information Centre No.1:Public consultation and receiving feedback is an important component of this project.The Town of Fort Erie invites residents to participate in the 2017 Wastewater Master Planand Pollution Prevention Control Plan Study Update by attending Public InformationCentre No. 1 to discuss the study’s strategic approach including: background review,baseline system performance, details of the process and next steps.

Please note that unless you do one of the above now, you may not beable to appeal the decision later.

A copy of the Information Report will be available to the public by 5:00 PM on November 29, 2017. The information reportwill be available in the Council agenda portion of the Town’s Web Site: www.forterie.ca or from the Planning and DevelopmentServices Department.
