President’s Report July 2013 GDay All,
Well it was a busy, but enjoyable June. The campout( Photos
in this issue) was great, hopefully we will be able to do it again next year.
The Cent Sale was a very profitable endeavour . We would like to thank
the Wanderers Cricket Club for the use of their venue.
Celebrate Townsville in the Mall was a great experience and good
exposure for the club. THANK YOU, to all that helped out.
We have been fortunate to get some more sausage sizzles at
Sportscene/Toyworld.They are a great money spinner for us,BUT, we
would like some other people to volunteer a Saturday morning, you
know the old saying “You can’t flog a dead horse.”
We are now in the process of posting out entry forms for the Talent
Search,they are also available on our web site. More Sponsors would be
nice, so if you have any ideas please let us know.
We are still looking at our CLUB HOUSE and have been back in
discussions with the Council for a allocation of park land. It is hoped
that Ray Gartrell will be at our next meeting to discuss this further.
Don’t forget Membership Fees are now due.

The Deputy Prime Minister visited a school the other day, and
after assembly the grade one children were asked to write
about the special event.One little boy put his hand up and asked
“ How do you spell Mr. goose?” After a moment of confusion,
the teacher realised he meant Mr. Swan.

A BIG THANK YOU The CENT SALE held a Wanderers Cricket Club was
very sprofitableindeed. The Committee would like to
thank all that gave items and those that came along on the
day,and thanks also to our many workers who showed that
many hands make light work. We will have another CENT
SALE next year, so when you are doing your spring
cleaning remember we will need prizes for it.

An elderly gentleman had a serious hearing problem,so a he went and got
his hearing checked,and was fitted with hearing aids. He went back for a
follow up review and the clinician said,”Your hearing is perfect, your
family must be pleased that you can hear again.” To which the gentleman
replies, “Oh I haven’t told them yet, I just sit around and listen to the
conversations.I have changed my will three times”.
