FROM SHORT FILM TO TRAILER!

Previously we decided to make a short film, this was due to the fact that we thought that a short film will be best to show a variety of different shot types making our film more interesting and will also show our narrative more clearly. However during filming due to unreliable actors and the many shots we had taken in different times, we agreed that it would be best to make a trailer, our understanding was that if we make a trailer unlike the short film it doesn’t have to be completely sequenced so the shots we had taken would still look professional and deliberate, rather than if we were to make a short film were it would be clear that we filmed in different times.

Reasons for our change to a trailer:• The main actor was not always available delaying filming. • Change in location of filming • Lack of continuity

KIDULTHOOD TRAILERI will be using the Kidulthood trailer as a template of how I will

structure my own trailer. This is why I will often be referring back to Kidulthood, as it is a relatable piece of media text.
