    2.1Controlling your Train

TS2013 lets you control the Train in four ways: Mouse to manipulate the in-cab controls, Standardized controls of the driving interface, Keyboard commands or An Xbox 360 controller.

Because each train has different control layouts, the remainder of this guide will focuson the driving interface and the keyboard commands as these interfaces arestandardized.

However, if you do wish to use the mouse to manipulate the train controls, first switchto the Cab view (see section 2.4 below) and then left-click on the required control (suchas the throttle or brake), and, holding down the left mouse button, drag the control inthe direction in which you wish to manipulate it. Look at the locomotive-specificinformation in your Route and locomotive guides for details of the in-cab controls.

    2.2Driving Controls

(A more complete description of the driving controls is contained in the DriverManual)

When you first install TS2013, the driving controls are set to 'Expert' - you canchange this to a simpler system of control - see section 5 - Game Settings.

In the lower part of the screen you will see a display like this (note that differentlocomotives will have different sets of controls):

The driving controls are (left to right): Throttle Reverser Brake (Depending on the locomotive/consist, there are three types of brake

selectable (top to bottom): Train brake, Locomotive brake and Dynamic brake.

Note: Some modern locomotives combine the throttle and brakecontrol and this is shown as a signal control. Drag the slider to the topto apply power and to the bottom to apply braking
