To be considered a world-class provider of training supportservices, a company must offer a full complement of services.CAE is just such a company, offering a comprehensiveportfolio of training support services. These services include:simulator and academic instruction, coursewaredevelopment, computer-based training, distance learning,simulator maintenance and operation, upgrades andmodifications, training device relocation and recertification,engineering/software support, logistics support, and trainingrequirements analysis. Following are some generaldescriptions of the services we offer.

I N S T R U C T I O N

CAE instructors are acknowledged experts in their field,transferring their extensive skills and experience gained overmany years of operational military duty to every student wetrain. Our instructors conduct classroom lectures, administerexaminations, monitor lessons, and provide one-on-oneinstruction as necessary. To support dynamic and realisticsimulator training, our instructors pre-brief each mission,ensure all training events are accomplished, and providecomprehensive debriefs. Following the latest educationalprinciples and employing cognitive methods, CAE instructorshelp ensure that every student builds on the solid foundation of"how to" knowledge from the classroom and hands-on trainingin the simulator. With this training and instruction, the studentwill be fully prepared to master the weapon system platform.

M A N A G E M E N T A N D S U P P O R T

CAE provides operation, maintenance, and engineeringsupport for the full range of training equipment, from thehighest fidelity motion-based full flight simulators to fixed-based part task trainers and computer-based trainingsystems. Our technical staff provides a complete range ofscheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure wedeliver mission capable training devices in the properconfiguration when and where they are scheduled. CAE’sengineering professionalscan modify and upgradeany training device toensure the accuraterepresentation of theactual weapon system. Ourmaintenance services helpdeliver the highest levels ofreliability, maintainability,and availability.

L O G I S T I C S S U P P O R T

CAE provides total supply and logistics support, including inventorymanagement, lifecycle support, andhardware and software configurationmanagement. Our support serviceshelp ensure your training devicesmaintain concurrency with theplatforms you have deployed. We havespecialists in just about every skill anddiscipline related to simulation andtraining, including visual systems,motion systems, and systemsintegration. Through our integratedlogistics support and engineeringcapabilities, CAE provides customerswith lower life cycle costs.

CAE designs, develops, produces, and implements a full range of courseware products to support all customer training needs. We employ thelatest equipment and techniques to enhance the learning experience. For example, our self-paced instruction lessons can include real-timeembedded skill measurement and performance tracking. CAE is also pioneering the development of courseware using CAE Simfinity™ technology,which leverages the same high-fidelity simulation software found in CAE’s full mission simulators. For example, we’ve designed CAE Simfinitycourses for the German Army to teach CH-53 aircrews engine start-up and shut-down procedures as well as electronic warfare training.

CAE is currently providing training support services tocustomers at more than 60 sites around the world. Following arebrief descriptions of some training support services programs atCAE.

U S A F – P R E D AT O R U AV

CAE is responsible for the entire spectrum of flight training forthe U.S. Air Force Predator Remote Operated Aircraft (ROA). CAEprovides courseware, lesson plans, syllabi, instructor andstudent guides, computer-based training, and actual operatorand sensor flight instruction for Predator crews. The trainingcurriculum includes classroom instruction, training time on thePredator Mission Task Trainer, and actual flying time.

R O YA L N AV Y M A I N T E N A N C E A N D S U P P O R T

Under contract to the UK Ministry of Defence, CAE isresponsible for the first line maintenance and support of 14Royal Navy training devices. These comprise all the major flighttraining devices at Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Culdrose,including the Merlin helicopter, and the simulators at RNASYeovilton supporting Lynx and Sea Harrier crews.

CAE currently provides Canada’s Department of NationalDefence (DND) with simulator maintenance at five sites. Morethan 40 CAE engineers and technicians provide maintenancesupport on Canada’s CC-130 operational flight trainer (OFT), CF-18 OFT, CP-140 flight deck simulator and cockpit procedurestrainer, and CH-146 OFT. In addition, CAE provides technicalsupport services for the air defence training devices at the AirDefence Artillery School at CFB Gagetown.

USAF – C-130 ATS and C-130J MATS

CAE supports the USAF C-130 Aircrew Training System (ATS) atthe formal school at Little Rock AFB and five other U.S. bases.Support includes the full spectrum of training devicemaintenance and logistics support for almost 20 simulators,including cockpit procedures trainers and weapon systemstrainers equipped with motion and visual systems. Engineering,design, development, installation and system integration areprovided for device modifications to maintain aircraftconcurrency. In addition, CAE provides a range of supportservices for the C-130J Maintenance and Aircrew TrainingSystem (MATS) program. CAE is responsible for providing theaircrew instructors, contractor logistics support, andengineering services to support the introduction into USAFservice of the newest Hercules.

G E R M A N F O R C E S M A I N T E N A N C E

CAE provides on-site maintenance andlogistics support for almost all flightsimulation equipment used by the GermanArmed Forces. More than 130 CAEtechnicians and engineers providemaintenance services at more than 20sites in Europe and the United States.CAE’s annual support service contractwith the German Armed Forces covers themaintenance of flight simulators forhelicopters, transport aircraft, andfighters, including maintenance supportfor the new Eurofighter training devices atLaage Air Force Base.

CAE supports the Australian Defence Forces (ADF) through a long-termManagement and Support of ADF Aerospace Simulators (MSAAS) contract, whichprovides turnkey maintenance, engineering, logistics and training support forNavy, Army, and Air Force Simulators. CAE’s team in Australia providesmaintenance and engineering support for RAAF B707, C-130J, and C-130Hsimulators; the Australian Army’s S-70A-9 Black Hawk simulator; and the RoyalAustralian Navy’s S-70B Seahawk simulator.
