TRANSAS SHIP MODEL TOOLKIT

The Transas ship model toolkit has been designed to enable real time ship motion hydrodynamic simulation for external software applications.

Possible areas of application • Navigational and tactical simulators;

• Port design and study applications;

• Vessel design and study applications;

• Test bench software for onboard equipment manufacturing (DP systems, autopilots, propulsion systems, engines etc.).

Components and capabilities The toolkit consists from the following components:

• Ship 6DOF motion calculation kernel;

• Ship model development software “Virtual Ship Yard” (optional);

• Ship model collection of more than 400 ship types (customer select).

TRANSAS SHIP MODEL TOOLKIT

The Transas ship model toolkit has been designed to enable real time ship motion hydrodynamic simulation for external software applications.

The kernel is C++ designed and supports the “com” interface for plugging in to external application. Interfacing may be provided in both simplified and advanced modes depending on external application specifics.

Virtual Ship Yard software

Flexible and user friendly package for development and editing ship motion, engine and propulsion models as well as controlling and documenting results.

Ship model collection

The collection includes tankers, bulkers, container vessels, yachts, boats, fast craft, tugs, barges, icebreakers, oil platforms and other objects. Models of submarines and hovercraft may also be developed on request.

The kernel provides high quality real time calculations for the following scene elements:

• Environmental forces from regular and irregular wave, wind and multilevel currents;• Ship hull hydrodynamic forces and moments;• Ship propulsion forces and moments;• Ship-to-ship, ship-to-bottom and various shallow water effects;• Engine and propulsion dynamics; • Winches, ropes, chains, anchors, fenders and other ship equipment.
