Nitrogen Purging, Drying & Product Displacement

• The hydrocarbon processing industry deals with many hazardous products which need tobe removed from the facilities before any maintenance or cleaning work can beexecuted.

• Systems will be drained of fluids and any remaining gases need to be purged usingnitrogen.

• After the shut-down work the same systems often need drying.

• In most cases the plant utility nitrogen does not have sufficient capacity to dry systems asquickly as needed.


Nitrogen / Helium Leak Testing

Uncontrolled emissions, loss of containment, release of hazardous petrochemicals are a direct danger to Health, Safety and Environment.

Experience proves that LEAKS do occur, mostly during plant start-up, after commissioning of new facilities or after the execution of maintenance on existing facilities.

Prior to the start-up of any new process plant or module there are certain requirementsthat must be met before hydrocarbons or product can be introduced safely.

TIG will, together with input from the client, provide procedures and risk assessmentsbased on industry knowledge and experience for each service offered.

Enhanced Nitrogen Reactor Cooldown

•The hydrocarbon processing industry employs a complex group of processes to reduce crude to usable end products.

•Historically, many of these processes have utilized catalysts to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

•The use of catalysts has increased as the quality of crude has decreased.

•This increasing use of catalysts has focused more attention on catalyst turnaround and handling and the time associated with these activities.

Hydrostatic & Pneumatic Testing

•Hydrostatic testing of pipelines and vessels is performed to expose defective materialsthat have missed prior detection, ensure that any remaining defects are insignificantenough to allow operation at design pressures, expose possible leaks and serve as afinal validation of the integrity of the constructed system.

•For pneumatic test we use compressed air or nitrogen as a media, in case ofhydrostatic testing we use either water or client’s product as media.

Pipeline Mechanical and Chemical Cleaning

• The Main purpose of gas pipelines is to transport product in an efficient manner.

• But most of the time debris and other product are also transported and canremain in the pipeline and reduce the capacity or harm the integrity of thepipeline.

• It is therefore important to clean the line from debris or condensate what canaffect other installations.

• We have years of experience in pipeline cleaning, mechanical and with chemicalsolutions, with the right designed PIG for it purpose.


Pipeline Geometry And Location (XYZ) Surveys

•The pipeline geometry or caliper pig survey is executed in close cooperation withpartners.

•The tool is purpose built to measure any deformations in the pipeline. The pipeline pigpre-determined traveling speed needs to be controlled for optimum Inline Inspectionprograms. Pipeline irregularities will be measured and pinpointed so that the defectscan be assessed and if needed repaired for production or Pigging ability purpose.


Pipeline Inspection Service

• Guaranteed integrity of pipelines is becoming more and more important for pipelineowners and operators.

• TIG can offer a complete inspection program from Traps, spools, pumps, tanks,cleaning programs and ILI inspection with one of our selected ILI suppliers.

• Our strength is to manage the complete program in order to be able to deliver agood inspection report for the client.


Pipeline Decommissioning and Abandonment

• The first step in abandonment of a pipeline is decommissioning, which is to take theline from its operating condition and render it clean and safe on the seabed.

• In some cases this process can cover a wide range of activities such as radioactive ormercury material handling, removal of debris from the pipeline and sampling of thesea water after cleaning of the line.

• With our offshore experience and equipment PNS is able to engineer, setup andexecute a decommissioning program for every individual project.


Pipeline Product and Gas Filtering

• During inline pipeline pigging or process cleaning, dust and debris can becomedislodged and requires separating from the rest of the installation.

• TIG has a professional designed mobile twin filter unit for inline pipeline piggingoperations.

• For every Pipeline and product specification, filters can be exchanged to suit thespecific requirement, making the unit ideal for several petrochemical products andinline pigging without production loss.


Boltworking Services

Introduction•The importance of planning the joint assembly, preparation ofall components, procedures, tooling and ensuring application ofthe correct methodology is essential.•The principle of a bolted joint is based on the induced bolt loaddelivering sufficient joint compression and gasket seating stressto withstand maximum service pressure and forces. This is whenthe bolting is under tensile load.•This load can be applied by various different methods but thereare certain constants that must always be in place to ensure aleak free joint.

1. Preparation – The sealing faces must be clean and freefrom serious damage. The bolting must be preparedcorrectly (lubrication if torqueing, thread protrusion ifbolt tensioning).

2. Equipment – Should be fit for purpose and have validcalibration certification.

3. Personnel – All personnel engaged in the tightening ofbolted connections should be trained in theequipment being used and have the appropriatequalifications.


Torque Tightening (Hand & Hydraulic)

•This is the most widely used/recognized form oftightening. This is due to the diverse range of toolingavailable which enables accurate tightening of awkwardand straightforward flanges alike and requires no specialistbolting (e.g. longer studs as required with Tensioning).

•By utilizing the elastic properties of the bolting materials,gasket manufacturers seating stresses, and lubricantspecific coefficient of friction, we can calculate and applythe correct torque to achieve the desired bolt load toguarantee a long term leak free joint.


Hydraulic Bolt Tensioning

•With this method of tightening the load is applied direct through axial extension of the bolts. Usually this is done with 50% coverage of the threaded fasteners at a time (25% and 100% are occasionally used).

•As a result of this, the load applied is distributed uniformly ensuring that the bolted connection is pulled up evenly. This method also eliminates the issue of friction which occurs during torqueing.

•Bolt Tensioning is often specified as being the preferred method of tightening throughout the Oil & Gas Industry for all fasteners of 1 1/8”Ø and above.
