DESCRIPTION
Transfer Student Orientation is a one-day session designed specifically for transfer students to acclimate them and their families to Mercer University’s academic and campus resources. Students have the opportunity to meet with a representative from their academic department to determine a fall course schedule, learn more about student organizations and opportunities for campus involvement, meet members of the Mercer community, and visit various offices to complete campus business before the semester begins.

Members of the Mercer community will welcome you and outline today’s schedule. This is also your chance to meet the Peer Advisors (PAs) and other representatives from the Mercer community.
9:30 a.m. Meetings with Deans............................................................................Locations Listed Below Meet with a representative from your college or school to discuss academic requirements and learn more about your career as a Mercer student. 9:30 a.m. Orientation Headquarters Opens………….......................Main Entrance, University Center Should you have any questions, forms to drop off, or comments to share, please drop by the Orientation Headquarters desk. We’ll be happy to assist you in any way we can.
10:30 a.m. Academic Advising Appointments Begin…………...………………….Your Advisor’s Office Appointments are scheduled throughout the day. If your appointment time is not listed in your welcome letter, you will receive your advising time at your Deans Meeting.
10:30 a.m. Math and Foreign Language Placement Exams......................Stetson Hall, Rooms 133 & 135to 12:00 p.m. If you have been advised at your Deans Meeting to take either or both exams, please plan to do so today. If you plan to take both exams, you are encouraged to take the math placement exam first.
10:30 a.m. Residence Hall Tours....................................Depart from Bear Rock Café, University Centerto 12:00 p.m. PAs will depart every thirty minutes to show you various residence halls and introduce you to an Area Coordinator from Residence Life. Please note: The last tour leaves at 11:30 a.m.
10:30 p.m. Campus Resource Fair...........................................................Heritage Hall, University Centerto 12:30 p.m. Find out about all Mercer has to offer! This is your chance to interact with resources and departments from across campus.
10:30 a.m. Campus Tours...............................................Depart from Bear Rock Café, University Centerto 12:30 p.m. PAs will depart every thirty minutes to take you on a tour of Mercer’s historic campus. Please note: The last tour leaves at 12:00 p.m.
10:30 a.m. Student Identification Cards Made..............Depart from Bear Rock Café, University Centerto 1:00 p.m. PAs will depart every thirty minutes to have student identification cards (Bear Cards) made with Auxiliary Services. Your Bear Card is your access to Mercer’s dining and residential services. Please note: The last group leaves at 12:30 p.m.
11:30 a.m. Lunch.......................................................The Fresh Food Company, Connell Student Centerto 1:30 p.m. Enjoy lunch in our dining center, The Fresh Food Company. Transfer students can exchange their meal ticket for lunch anytime during this timeframe. Additional guests may purchase a meal ticket at the entrance of The Fresh Food Company.
1:00-1:45 p.m. Division of Student Affairs Information...........President’s Dining Room, University Center Join representatives from the Division of Student Affairs to learn about campus resources and involvement. Discuss the student benefits of campus engagement, ask questions, and connect yourself to the Mercer community.
2:00-2:30 p.m Pre-Health Program Information……..............President’s Dining Room, University Center Students interested in pursuing any of Mercer’s Pre-Health tracks (e.g., Pre-Med, Pre-Pharm, Pre-Dentistry, Pre-Vet, etc.) will learn more about their academic responsibilities.
As You Bear Care Gift….………………........…................................Heritage Hall, University CenterDepart Students can pick up their Bear Care Gift in Heritage Hall for the trip home!
