Transform Performance Through
Enterprise Integration
In today’s world, success is a complicated business.Missions and requirements are expanding. Budgets are shrinking. Your ability to automate processes, rapidly gather insight and respond to changing events is more critical than ever.
Booz Allen Hamilton > Enterprise Integration 2
Can your current IT solutions take
the strain?
Stovepiped systems are too expensive to
sustain. They duplicate technologies and waste
funds, compromising your organization’s productivity
and decision-making capabilities.
Booz Allen Hamilton > Enterprise Integration 3
New needs require new thinking.Today’s users expect more capabilities, real-time access and a consistent experience across organizational boundaries and devices. That means organizations can’t afford to be shortsighted. To do more with less, they need shareable capabilities that improve performance enterprise-wide.
Booz Allen Hamilton > Enterprise Integration 4
It’s not about developing a single solution.
Booz Allen goes beyond technology for technology’s sake. We create transformative
solutions that integrate data, systems and people.
It’s about embracing a holistic strategy. We work with you to modernize existing applications
and systems while minimizing cost through agile integration techniques that enable you to effectively
achieve mission success.
That means:Eliminating redundant hardware and software.
Integrating legacy applications. Adding new social, mobile, analytic and cloud solutions.
That means staying focused on the big picture.

Introducing Enterprise IntegrationBooz Allen Hamilton connects and streamlines processes, applications and data to help you effectively achieve critical goals and capitalize on new opportunities.
Mission-driven strategy
Aligning technology solutions to
mission needs.
Enterprise perspective
Focusing on gaps and redundancies across
organizational boundaries to automate processes and gain efficiencies.
Open, modular architecture
Reducing vendor lock-in and ensuring
interoperability.

Integration As Afterthought
Integration With Forethought
Stovepiped, monolithic systems with duplicate and non-standard technology components.
Modular, open and government-owned System-of-Systems with common hardware, software, data and infrastructure.

Military Intelligence IntegrationA CASE STUDY Assess
The Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A) program was tasked with consolidating nine stovepiped Programs of Record (PORs) to
improve interoperability and reduce costs. Booz Allen assessed legacy systems and identified capability gaps and overlaps across the PORs.
ArchitectEmploying our Enterprise Integration methodology, we developed
the blueprint and roadmap to migrate the stovepiped PORs into a consolidated, integrated, streamlined system.
AssembleBy defining the DCGS-A interface specifications, we delivered a
cohesive, single enterprise solution based on an open architecture and Government-controlled specifications.
AdvanceThe DCGS-A consolidation achieved an estimated $3B in cost avoidance over the total
life cycle. These savings enable DCGS-A to continue investing in innovations like the DCGS-A Standard Cloud (DSC), the first tactically deployed DoD cloud capability.

Operations Intelligence Center IntegrationA CASE STUDY Assess
JIEDDO Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Operations/Intelligence Integration Center (COIC) needed to be transitioned away from an incumbent
contractor towards a future mission architecture—with zero disruption of operations. Booz Allen began by assessing a fragmented system portfolio of 60+
COTS, GOTS and custom-developed tools, many of which contained redundant and stovepiped features that relied on proprietary solutions.
ArchitectWith 100% transparency, we developed a detailed transition-in plan that followed our
proven four-phased approach across all executing Task Orders. In the process, we placed the appropriate controls to monitor and assure ongoing mission support.
AssembleThrough careful planning and methodical execution, we successfully managed and implemented a
seamless 30-day transition of all responsibility from the outbound contractor with no disruption of the operational mission. By delivering a roadmap and future state architecture design, we have enabled
the COIC to support today’s mission requirements and tomorrow’s expanded mission needs.
AdvanceIn developing and deploying Catapult—the COIC’s cloud-based architecture—we were able to
deliver leap-ahead technology and an accredited framework. Within this framework, we deployed 10 Attack the Network capabilities, increasing user access to mission critical data, lowering
operation cost for the government and enabling mission success.
