Aims- Seminar 05 November 2013
• To develop a shared understanding of the Schools Improvement Partnership Programme
• To provide an opportunity for the 2 ‘front runner’ partnerships to share their experiences to date in taking forward their projects
• To support the partnerships in further developing their action plans for their work as part of the programme

Background
In March 2013, the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, Mike Russell, announced a range of approaches to tackle the steadfast link between socio-economic deprivation and low educational attainment.

Schools Improvement Partnership Programme (SIPP)• Education Scotland is leading the
development of this programme and managing its implementation
• Steering group involving ADES, COSLA, AHDS, SLS, EIS and the Scottish Government to develop the rationale and detail of the programme
• Support from university researchers
• Across schools within and across EAs
