Transit Opportunity StudyTransit Opportunity Study

Prepared transit ‘opportunity’ maps– Based upon existing service routes, proposed new access

locations, and known origins/destinations within the corridor

Met with key stakeholders to solicit feedback– VDOT– DRPT– Transit Stakeholders– TDM Groups

Prepared draft transit service changes and circulated for comments, culminated in group discussion and formal feedback

Finalizing the results of outreach efforts into a Transit Opportunity Study Report for the corridor

Coordinate with Transit Advisory Committee

Actively progressing the traffic model, the operational analysis of termini points, and preparation of the NEPA documentation

Delivery of the Transit Opportunity Study to VDOT/DRPT, Transit Advisory Committee

Initiation of the 2007 CLRP process– Input Assumptions due January 26th

– Assumptions released for public review – February 15th

Proactive program of outreach to local governments, transportation groups, and other stakeholders– Commitment to a transparent process– Formal processes (NEPA, CLRP) offer opportunities for public
