Jungle walk to observe the local flora and fauna, including the famous Dendrobates frogs. After reaching the River Arusicito, travel downstream in chingos (small artisanal wooden boats) driven by local woodsmen. Visit to the village of Arusí and return to the hotel.

Whale watching along the coast of Cabo Corrientes. Visit to the 10m-high Punta Brava waterfall in the afternoon. Walk along the edge of the ravine on the way back to the hotel.4

Leave in vehicule from Santa Marta and head to the village of Machete. Begin the expedition trekking for approx. 3.5 hours. Arrival at Camp 1 in the afternoon.1

2DAY Continue walking along the mountain range (approx. 4.5

hours), with visits to the indigenous villages of Koguis and Mutanyi. Arrive at Camp 2 at the source of the River Buritaca, and listen to a talk about Tayrona culture.

Continue the journey along the river on the way to the 1,183 steps that lead up to the Lost City. Visit the site’s terraces, stone paths and aqueduct. Return to the camp at Mamo Rumualdo in the afternoon.3

Continue walking down the mountains until reaching Camp 1 (approx. 7 hours).4

Set out toward the village of Machete, along the banks of the River Mamey. Transport back to Santa Marta.5

Walk to the Pueblito archeological site, passing through the park’s Arrecifes sector and Cabo San Juan. At the ancient settlement of the Tayrona people at Pueblito, visit to the site’s aqueducts, terraces and religious areas. Return to the Cabins. This trek takes around 7 hours at a medium to high level of difficulty.

Free morning at the beach in the park’s La Piscina area, or enjoying the Jacuzzi at the Ecohabs. In the afternoon take a 2 to 3 hour trip around the park’s El Mirador sector.3

Arrival in Leticia. Travel by land to the Tanimboca Nature Reserve, where we’ll have a guided night-time walk. Accommodation in tree-top cabins with private bathroom.1

Visit the reserve’s snake sanctuary. Guided walk to a 35 meter-high tree to admire stunning views of the jungle’s treetop canopy. Canopy and rappelling activity. Travel by Kayak or on foot to the cabins to stay overnight on the banks of the Yahuarcaca ravine. Accommoda-tion in double, triple or quadruple rooms with private bathrooms.2

Return to Leticia to take a boat as far as the brooklet of the Amazon River in Peru. Arrive at the Eco-Hotel for canoeing activity and a visit to the region’s Victoria Regia giant water lilies and Ceiba trees. Night time walk to look for caimans. Travel along the Amazon river to Puerto Nariño, “the cradle of the Amazon”, stopping off at the Macedonia indigenous community and Isla de los Micos (Monkey Island). Visit the Natutama Foundation Museum and Lake Tarapoto, home of the region’s pink dolphins. Accommodation in the Hotel Casa Selva in double or triple rooms with private bathrooms.
