The best excursion from Nassau to Pig BeachThe number one thing visitors and locals to The Bahamas want to see is the Swimming Pigs! These unique animals love visitors, and this is the best way to see them from Nassau!Join us as we zoom through the stunning Exuma Cays, with stops to explore the beauty up close. Our first stop is to see the Bahamian Rock Iguanas – secluded on their very own island in paradise. From there we head to the main attraction at Big Major Cay (a.k.a. ‘Pig Beach’)– home to the world-famous Swimming Pigs! Enjoy interacting with these guys, feeding them, and listening to them tell tales of being marooned on an island!Afterwards, the amazing Staniel Cay Yacht Club will whip us up some lunch, and sometimes we’ll see their frequent nurse shark visitors and sting ray friends. Lunch is included in the trip price and food options will be presented at booking. The day continues by returning to the Northern Exuma Cays, with a brief stop at a beach or sandbank. The last leg takes you back to Nassau, where the sun setting over the capital of the Bahamas welcomes you back to Nassau Harbour! Each journey between stops is just over an hour on the unique saddle-style seats of our Parker RIBs.

HOTELS- SecludedCompass Point Beach ResortSecluded behind foliage and a brightly-colored 10ʹ wall, all of Compass Point’s accommodations offer exceptional privacy. The property’s building colors are inspired by the Bahamian Carnival “Junkanoo”. These colors, combined with the green foliage, palm trees and wide expanse of the Atlantic Ocean, with its multiple hues of blue, make this destination one of the most picturesque in the Caribbean. The air-conditioned rooms, with all white interiors and wood accents, compliment the romantic setting. Every room has a balcony with excellent views of the property and ocean.STUDIO HUTS | SEA FRONT HUTS | ELEVATED SEA FRONT HUTS | SEA VIEW HUTS | ELEVATED SEA VIEW HUTS | ELEVATED SEA VIEW 2 BR HUTS

A Stone’s Throw Away - Bed & Breakfast Your Hideaway in Nassau.Five minutes from Cable Beach but a world away. A Stone's Throw Away offers the best of The Bahamas' out islands in the heart of New Providence. On the west end of New Providence lays an exquisite hide-away. A STONE’S THROW AWAY is perched on one of the highest elevation by the coast. Here our guests can indulge in a rare panoramic view of Nassau’s land and sea. The scenery boasts the best of the island’s natural wonders, from the native pine forest by Lake Killarney to the brim of the coral reefs that protect the glimmering beaches of west Nassau. The property was built to echo the traditions of an old Bahamian home: wood floors and wood ceilings, louvered shutters and a large wrap around porch bring the visitors back to a quieter time long ago when the music of the islands could be heard in the whispers of the trade winds. The hotel accommodates 20 guests only in 8 rooms and 2 suites.

ATMsNot all ATMs in the Caribbean operate like
those in your home country. Some may only
accept a four digit PIN number, so if yours is
longer you may want to change it before your
trip. Ensure you keep your travel money in
your primary chequing account as some
ATMs default to this account and will not
allow you to choose another. Withdrawal
fees are generally much higher outside your
home country. The main banks are
FirstCaribbean International Bank (tel
242/394-8472), RBC Royal Bank of
Canada (tel 242/356-8500) and
Scotiabank (tel 242/356-1400).
FirstCaribbean ATMs accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and any bank card on the Plus or Cirrus networks and dispense Bahamian dollars.
BANKING HOURSMon-Thurs 9:30am-3pm
Fri 9:30am-4:30pm
Bahamas ClimateThe Bahamas' climate is tropical maritime. The weather is fantastic year-round. Temperatures rarely fall below 21 degrees Celsius (70 degrees Fahrenheit). There are two seasons: summer (May to September) and winter (October to April). Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30.
Passport/VisaAll visitors must be in possession of a return or onward ticket, plus proof of funds, and with the exception of nationals of Canada and the US, all visitors must hold passports which are valid at least six months after entry. Cruise ship passengers must hold a ticket for their ship. As part of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), all travelers traveling between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean region are required to present a passport or other valid travel document to enter or re-enter the United States. If departing from the USA a valid passport will be required by immigration authorities.

CustomsBe aware of customs limits. Travelers from the US can take home up to $800 of duty-free goods if they’ve been in The Bahamas for 48 hours or more. Those who are here for less than 48 hours can take home up to $200 in purchases.
TimeSet your watch to Eastern Standard Time. All of The Bahamas operates on EST and observes Daylight Savings Time.
Air BnBFor the best value, check out Airbnb where you can rent either a spare room or an entire place from a local. Often times these are located in central neighborhoods or right on the coast at a much better cost per night than a hotel. You can find entire apartments starting around 50 BSD but you’ll find much more inventory if you look at 90 BSD and up.Choose anything in the western area these places are usually very accommodating and visually appealing. Western means it will be close in proximity to shopping, eateries, and beaches.
