-Print all reservation confirmations and organize them in a folder or binder.
-Carefully read over your itinerary and reservations to make sure they are cohesive.

1 year - 6 months-Decide on where you want to go and do.
-Outline an itinerary.-Set a budget.
-Research travel blogs to find out more about the experience you can have or want to avoid.
-Research hotel accomodations
1 Week
1 month to 2 weeks-Purchase any items you will need such a toiletries, appropriate clothing and shoes, travel packs, cameras and accessories.
-Start a blog if you want to share India with those who were not able to make the trip.
-Apply for a travel visa online at IndianEmbassy.org.
-Make a photocopy of your passport and other important documents, just in case you lose it on the trip; upload these items to a cloud for easy access.
-Get all vaccinations needed to have a safe trip.
-Let your bank know you will be out of the country to avoid any freezes to your account.
-Have your mail held or ask a friend to pick it up for you.
-Obtain cash and traveler’s checks.
-Make a list of everything you packed to be sure that you keep up with it all on your trip.
6 months to 4 months-Obtain a passport, if you don’t have one or yours is expired.
-Be sure to know the type of visa you need to apply for, if you are going for more than 30 days you will need to apply for a visa in this time.
