2015 With more than two million treasures, the Metropolitan Museum’s encyclopedic collection is a window to new worlds—clues to past civilizations as well as to our future. Gaze long enough at a terra-cotta amphora fragment, Kashmiri silk carpet, or Maya relief sculpture, and you are transported back to ancient Knossos, Mughal India, or pre-Columbian Mexico.
