In addition, omnium points for paracyclists will also be awarded for the Boise Twilight Criterium. The Treasure Valley Grand Prix is intended to be a quality race for all rider categories.

Race Number Pickup and Registration

Your race number will be given to you at the registration check-in prior to the time trial. Please bring your SWICA numbers if you have been issued one. Race license and photo ID will be required. Online Registration Deadline: Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 12:00 PM (Noon) MT USA Cycling License Required One day licenses are available from USA Cycling when you register for race.


Treasure Valley Grand Prix Time Trial Friday, July 14, 2017 Eagle, Idaho The Individual Time Trial will start at 6:30 pm. Actual start times will be emailed to all registered riders the night before the race and posted near the Start Line approximately 30 minutes before the first rider departs. Riders will start in thirty (30) second intervals. The starting order will be as follows:

➢ Head northeast on S Lois Ave toward W Ann Morrison Park Dr (410 ft)

➢ Turn right onto W Ann Morrison Park Dr (190 ft)

➢ Turn left at the 1st cross street onto S Capitol Blvd (0.7 mi)

➢ Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto W Front St (0.4 mi)

➢ Continue straight onto US-20 W/US-26 W (1.0 mi)

➢ Use the right lane to take the US-20 W/US-26 W ramp to I-184 W/Garden City/Fair Grounds/I-84 W (0.3 mi)

➢ Continue onto US-20 W/US-26 W/W Chinden Blvd (3.0 mi)

Course Description

There is one distance (19K) for the Treasure Valley Grand Prix Individual Time Trial. The Start/Finish line is located on W. Floating Feather Rd. The 19K course is 2 laps around a 9.57 loop. The start gaete will be on the left-hand side of the road heading west on Floating Feather. As riders come around the corner of Park and Floating Feather they will need to stay to the right of the road as they start the second lap.


Sign In & Event Area Overview

All riders are required to sign in to obtain their race number and sign a waiver. Sign in will open at 5:45 PM Mountain Daylight time. Parking, race check-in, medical, and porta-potties are located at the northwest corner of the parking lot at the LDS church parking lot.


Boise Twilight Criterium

Line up early at the Start, as we will call to the line the winners from the Time Trial and those winners will get prime positioning!

Parking will be marked for Omnium Hand-Cyclists. Course will be closed by the time you arrive, so please enter

the parking lot from W State St. Each driver must sign a release of liability to park in the parking area. This is

attached in the back of this guide.

Event Course Map

The Boise Twilight Criterium is part of USA Cycling’s National Criterium Calendar. Paracyclists will be racing in a great time slot, just prior to the Pro Men’s and Women’s races. The course will be a clockwise loop starting in front of the Idaho State Capital building and proceed in a 1x3 block, 4-corner loop. Be prepared for a flat, fast race!

This is a very technical 1k course with 10 turns. This will be a bike handler’s course that will test your acceleration!

➢ Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto ID-55 N/S Eagle Rd (signs for McCall/Emmett) (0.5 mi)

➢ Turn right onto E Franklin Rd (0.2 mi)

➢ Turn left onto N Guadians Ave (0.2 mi)

General and Technical Information

Registration

Registration is available online at https://www.usacycling.org/register/2017-1348 Start times will be emailed and posted at http://www.treasurevalleygp.com/ and Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/TreasureValleyGrandPrix Non-Idaho residents and one-day license holders are allowed to race. One day licenses are available online at https://www.usacycling.org/register/2017-1348 or

www.usacycling.org. For riders who are new to racing, you may enter as Cat 5 Men or Cat 5 Women.

USA Cycling Road Licenses and Race Categories

The 2017 Treasure Valley Grand Prix is a USA Cycling Road sanctioned event under permit #2017-1348. A valid

USAC license must be presented in order to compete in the Omnium. No rider may race in a category other than that which is stated on his or her license.

Unlicensed riders may purchase a one-day license and be permitted to enter races open to Men’s Category 5 or Women’s Category 5. Classification

Classification will not be available in Nampa, Idaho.

Riders who wish to register but have not been classified (nationally – or – internationally) should contact Erin Popovich for help determining which category to register for. [email protected] Helmets

At all times when participating in this event; any rider on a bicycle shall wear a protective, securely fastened helmet that satisfies the standards specified in USA Cycling Policies. Failure to wear such a helmet or removal of such a helmet during a race will be punished by disqualification and a $20 fine. The fine is also applicable if the rider is not racing, but is participating in the event. "Participating in the event" means riding a bicycle in the vicinity of a race at any time during the event, but does not apply to riding rollers or stationary trainers in order to warm up.

Rider Numbers

Race numbers are to be worn as follows:

• Treasure Valley GP Time Trial o Right side and back

• Boise Twilight Criterium o Hand cycles: Both sides and back o Upright Bicycles: As per Boise Twilight rules.

• Treasure Valley GP Criterium o Right side, back, frame number

Numbers may not be folded, trimmed, crumpled, or otherwise defaced. Racers will not be allowed to start the event with a folded number. If the Officials miss you at the start and note that your number is folded during the event you will be penalized by relegation. Mechanical Support Team support follow vehicles are not allowed. Wheel support is currently planned but not guaranteed for the Criteriums. There will be one (1) wheel pit at the Boise Twilight Criterium near the start/finish line that will be wheels-in/wheels-out. One (1) free lap will be allowed for mishaps (defined by the USA Cycling Road Rulebook and verified by a race official) until 8 laps (8 km) to go. Be sure to label your equipment and pick it up after your race. Treasure Valley Grand Prix Organizers are not responsible for any lost or stolen equipment. There will be no support during the Individual Time Trial.

Junior Gears

Junior gearing will be enforced during the Treasure Valley Grand Prix. Blocked gears will be allowed and all tests for compliance will be performed using the “roll-out method”. The road limits for junior riders is 7.93 meters (26’). Any junior rider who fails the “roll-out” will be relegated to last place and time or subject to disqualification at the discretion of the Chief Referee. A mandatory roll-out will be required immediately after Individual Time Trial.


Staging and Sign-In

Riders shall be present at the signature checkpoint no less than 15 minutes before the announced time of the start and sign-in shall close 10 minutes before the announced starting time. Any rider appearing after this shall incur a 30 second penalty. Each rider shall sign in personally; if anyone else signs in for a given rider, that rider will receive a $20 fine. Rider Conduct

Please act responsibly and respectfully as guests of the community in which we race. The Treasure Valley Grand Prix Individual Time Trial is NOT closed to traffic. All riders competing must keep to the right of the center line (yellow line) in all areas of the course, including the final 200m of the Time Trial. All riders must obey the Rules of the Road as defined by Ada County and the State of Idaho. The severity of the penalty will be at the discretion of the Chief Referee. Ticketing by law enforcement may also apply. Protests

Protests are to be filed with the Chief Judge if protests concern order of finish; otherwise, protests are to be filed with Chief Referee. Any protest must be submitted in writing, signed by the person submitting the protest, and filed with the Chief Referee within 15 minutes after the official announcement.

Course Familiarization

It is the rider's responsibility to familiarize him or herself with the race course before the start of the race. The responsibility of keeping on the prescribed course rests with the rider. Restroom Facilities

ADA Porta-Potties will be available near the Start/Finish line. Public urination and/or nudity are not tolerated. Failure to abide by this rule will result in a 30 second time penalty or disqualification. The severity of the penalty will be at the discretion of the Chief Referee. Scoring for Treasure Valley Grand Prix Omnium 1. First – Fifth individual Classifications

These will be given a score based on finishing order as illustrated in the following example based on 10 registered racer in a classification: 1st = 13 points 2nd = 11 points 3rd = 9 points 4th = 7 points


5th = 6 points 6th = 5 points 7th = 4 points 8th = 3 points 9th = 2 points 10th = 1 point Everyone from 11th place on will be awarded 0 points. At the conclusion of the TVGP Omnium, the points will be added up and winners awarded based on points accrued.

Award Ceremony Treasure Valley Grand Prix Time Trial Friday, July 14, 2017 Results will continue to be posted throughout the Time Trial. Winners will be recognized at the conclusion of the race. Treasure Valley Grand Prix Omnium Sunday, July 16, 2017 Criterium and overall winner’s results will be posted 20 minutes after last racer in your category crosses the finish line.
