Treasures of The Transformed Life:saTisfying your souL’s ThirsT for more
This Sunday we will begin a discipleship focus entitled, Treasures of a Transformed Life. Our mission is “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. “This world transformation begins with the transformation of individual lives. Truly, St. Luke is, by the grace of God, “The Transformation Place.” September 15 ....“Priming the Pump” September 22 ....“Drawing Water” September 29 ....“Jumping In With Both Feet” October 6........... “I Come With Joy” (World Communion Sunday) October 13 .........“Pennies in the Fountain” October 20 ........ “Offering a Drink to Others” October 27 ........ “Filling the Bucket to Overflowing” (Commitment Sunday)In an earlier generation, the lay leadership in The Methodist Church constituted a “Board of Stewards.” The idea was that everyone elected to leadership was a steward of the mercies of God. I would like to see us reclaim that understanding not only of leadership but also of mem-bership. As disciples, we are all called to be stewards of the life God has given us, including our time, our talents and our treasure. A life being transformed by the grace of Christ is filled with many treasures. We will be exploring those treasures each Sunday in September and October. I hope you and your family will be a part of that exploration.

You have given man a crown of glory and honor, and have made him a little lower than the angels. You have put him in charge of all creation: the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, the fish of the sea. But what is man that you are mindful of him. O Lord, our God the majesty and glory of your name transcends the earth and fills the heavens. O Lord, our God, little children praise You perfectly, and so would we. Alleluia!
