Pastoral Care PASTORAL CARETrinity Catholic College Lismore, as an educational institution, is dedicated to the holistic development of the full potential of each student in its care, that means physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.

The College hopes to see each student reach their full potential.Parents who choose to send their children to Trinity realise that this College is a special type of school built on co-operation, friendliness and integrity, where all concerned (students, staff and parents) take an active part in the College and work together to provide the best possible education.

PHILOSOPHICAL BASISCollege-based pastoral care refers to the total care of the student. The Journey so far!

• College Review - required the development of a PC Programme for the College.

• Acknowledgement that Pastoral Care does occur in the College but not necessarily in a structured manner. Tutor time is insufficient for much structured PC work to occur.

• Acknowledgement that PC do occur across the Curriculum

Our Starting Point

Initially:• Do a Curriculum Map with the help of HOD.• Determine what was missing.• Write programmes to fill these gaps.• Work out a way to deliver the programme

What could it mean for staff?

• More work – quite likely, although we are trying to develop the units so that all it takes is a few minutes to read over the unit a day or two prior to the lesson time.

• Getting opportunities for meaningful contact with students

• Successes, Failures, Frustrations and Elation.• PD? No! All teachers we have here can deliver

this programme
