>Worship LET YOUR FRIENDS KNOW YOU’RE HERE—Check into Facebook! It’s a great witness to your network of friends. ANNUAL STEWARDSHIP EMPHASIS: Today we continue our preaching series called LOADED: A Richer Perspective on Money. This week’s reading is Mark 12:41-44—The Widow’s Mite. Money is a loaded issue. It's loaded with emotion, loaded with temptation… loaded with options. This makes money one of the most difficult, and important, things to talk about. In this series we’ll consider what God’s Word has to say about the stranglehold money and materialism has on our lives, the “servant role” of money in our lives, how to be a more generous giver for the sake of Christ’s mission, and how to take steps in more faithfully stewarding this gift of God. Our Stewardship series will conclude with Commitment Weekend next week. PENTECOST WEEKEND is May 23/24. Join us as we remember, celebrate and give thanks for the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We invite you to join us for a “Red Out” (Wear something “Red”) as red is the liturgical color for the Holy Spirt. MONDAY NIGHT WORSHIP begins on Monday, June 1 at 7 p.m. Our final Saturday evening worship of

Page 4: Trinity Lutheran Church Announcer for May 10, 2015

the season will be on Saturday, May 23 at 5 p.m. Monday night worship will be offered June–August. SUMMER SERMON SERIES (May 31 – June 28)—Faith that Works (Reflections on how faith and following fit together: Based on selected readings from the book of James) The Apostle James challenges us, on many levels, not only to “hear” the Word but to “do” the Word. We know from Paul that “faith comes by hearing.” We know from James that “works/following” flow from faith. Faith and works go together. Faith without works is dead. Works apart from faith are futile. In this series the Apostle James helps us to explore various ways in which our faith is to be expressed and lived out in real ways in a real world.

LOOKING FOR A SENSE OF DIRECTION? – You can find a qualified professional Christian counselor through Trinity Christian Counseling. For an appointment call: 586-468-0401 or email [email protected]. Private and confidential sessions are held in our Olympia Building counseling office, on Cass near southbound Gratiot in Mt. Clemens. STEPHEN MINISTRY- O Lord, our good shepherd, just as you care for your flock and for the lost sheep, you call us to care for those within and outside our congregation who are struggling with the challenges of life. Help each of us to recognize their needs so that we can reach out with your love and compassion. Help us also to recognize those who could benefit from additional care so that we may guide them to our pastors and Stephen leaders. We pray in the name of Jesus Amen. Call the church office to reach a Stephen leader.

>Member Engagement LIVING YOUR STRENGTHS JOURNEY–God has uniquely designed each of us with a set of talents. We offer the 7-week Living Your Strengths Journey 3-4 times/year to help you uncover your “Top 5” talent themes and how they make you “you.” Following is 1 of 34 themes and how it’s designed to bless. For info, about the class, contact Sue von Fange at [email protected]. THE BLESSING OF THE RELATOR TALENT is found in the fact that you can form relationships with virtually anyone. You prefer relationships that are real genuine, and can form relationships with people older, younger, or the same age as yourself. You form relationships at different levels of closeness or intimacy. You make a difference in people’s lives, and that difference can be a driving force in your life. How do you use your Relator talent in service of God and others?

ACCREDITATION VISIT RESULTS—Last week, we had our accreditation visit team here to finish our accreditation process. During the exit report, the team:

1. Recommended that Trinity be re-accredited for another 5 years. 2. Recommended that Trinity be given Exemplary Status for this accreditation term. Recommendation for exemplary status means that the accreditation process is not done yet. We have another team of visitors that will visit in the fall IF the Michigan and National Accreditation Commission believe we should be considered. (NOTE: No K-8 Lutheran School in Michigan has received Exemplary Status. The only Exemplary Status school in Michigan is our own Trinity Early Childhood Center!)
