HAPPY 20

TH BIRTHDAY MEN’S BIBLE STUDY: Wow, for 20 years men from our congregation, young

and old, as well as Christian men from other churches have gathered together on Wednesday mornings to read, study, and discuss God’s Word. We’ve met to learn from one another, pray for each other, and to support one another in the journey of faith and life in a confidential and non-judgmental setting. So, if you’re looking for a place to grow in faith, and/or you’re seeking a deeper sense of community here at Trinity, then we invite you to join us at any time. We meet every Wednesday from 6–7 a.m. in the Church Lounge. This is a great opportunity to more fully Engage God and Engage God’s People. Questions? Contact Tim Rosso, Pat Anderson, Rick Lynn or David Brown. LUTHERAN NORTH GOLF OUTING—Lutheran High North’s annual Mustang Golf Outing will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Cracklewood Golf Course on 24 Mile Road just east of Romeo Plank Road. The four-man scramble will tee off at 10am. Check the website lhn.lhsa.com under the ‘Resource’ tab for the registration form and send it in with $100.00 to reserve a great round of golf, fun, and fellowship.

SUMMER SERMON SERIES (May 31 – June 28)—Faith that Works

(Reflections on faith and following: Based on readings from the book of James)

The Apostle James challenges us, on many levels, not only to “hear” the Word but to “do” the Word. We know from Paul that “faith comes by hearing.” We know from James that “works/following” flow from faith. Faith and works go together. Faith without works is dead. Works apart from faith are futile. In this series the Apostle James helps us to explore various ways in which our faith is to be expressed and lived out in real ways in a real world.

>Member Engagement

LIVING YOUR STRENGTHS JOURNEY–God has uniquely designed each of us with a set of talents. We offer the 7-week Living Your Strengths Journey 3-4

times/year to help you uncover your “Top 5” talent themes and how they make you “you.” Following is 1 of 34 themes and how it’s designed to bless. For info, about the class, contact Sue von Fange at [email protected].

THE BLESSING OF THE RESPONSIBILITY TALENT is found in the depth and quality of relationships you are able to form. Because you are a person of your word, people trust you. It is this trust that bonds you to others and others to you. Your ability to build trusting relationships helps you to have a highly persuasive and influential impact on people, as people will only willingly follow

Page 6: Trinity Lutheran Church Announcer May 17, 2015

those they trust, and trust is what you have the talent to generate in others. One of the greatest blessings of your Responsibility theme is the level of commitment you are able to generate in others. This stems from the fact that you make such deep commitments to others and their full development and personal fulfillment. How do you use your Responsibility talent in service of God and others?
