Pasco Countyparents are taking matters intotheir own hands to fight the syn-thetic drug known as “spice” – adrug that is sold as “incense” butthat is packaged and marketed toyouth. Even though you are sup-posed to be 18 to buy this stuff, itis being sold to underage buyers. It’s legal, it’s cheap and it’s deadly. And, because it’s not illegal, peopleare making the mistake of thinkingthat it can’t be harm them.

Erik and Colleen Suojanen hada major scare when their sonpassed out after inhaling just onepuff of “spice,” and these parentsaren’t taking it without putting upa fight! Imagine finding your teenunresponsive and having to rushthem to the hospital for somethingthat isn’t even illegal. The problemis fast becoming an epidemic. Andit isn’t that our law enforcementand government isn’t addressingthe situation. They definitely are.The problem is the manufacturersare staying one step ahead of the

laws. For the past couple of yearsthere have been constant efforts toillegalize spice but as soon as oneformulation is banned, there is anew chemical mix to take its place. This is not something that only af-fects “other people.” On the nightthe Suojanens rushed their child tohospital, there were six others inthe ER after smoking “spice” andthey weren’t at a party together—that is seven unrelated instances!

The Suojanen’s are takingmatters into their own hands byorganizing protests at stores thatcarry these dangerous products, which doesn’t end with “spice.”You’d have to be living under arock not to have heard of the terri-fying effects of “bath salts” – themost famous incident being theMiami man who literally ate an-other man’s face after allegedly in-gesting “bath salts” which are acentral nervous system stimulantthat acts something like a mix ofmethamphetamine and cocaine. The number of calls to poison cen-

Local Residents Called to Con-tribute to Historic Cancer ResearchEffort

Residents of Pasco County,Florida have an unprecedented oppor-tunity to participate in a historic studythat has the potential to change theface of cancer for future generations.Men and women between the ages of30 and 65 who have never been diag-nosed with cancer are needed to par-ticipate in the American CancerSociety’s Cancer Prevention Study-3(CPS-3). CPS-3 will enroll a diversepopulation of up to half a million peo-ple across the United States andPuerto Rico. The opportunity for localresidents to enroll in CPS-3 is beingavailable at multiple locations acrossPasco County between June 14th –23rd. To see enrollment locations, dates, times and to schedule an ap-pointment to enroll visitwww.cps3pasco.org.

CPS-3 will help researchers betterunderstand the lifestyle, environmen-tal, and genetic factors that cause orprevent cancer. “My mom is a two-time cancer survivor and I’m doing allI can to make sure my children don’thave to say that…. I really believe this(CPS-3) is part of the answer,” statedone study participant.

To enroll in the study, individualswill be asked to read and sign an in-formed consent form; complete acomprehensive survey packet that asksfor information on lifestyle, behavioral, and other factors related to yourhealth; have your waist circumferencemeasured; and give a small blood sam-ple. Upon completion of this process, the Society will send periodic follow-up surveys to update your informationand annual newsletters with study up-dates and results. The in-person en-rollment process takes approximatelyan hour to complete. Periodic follow-up surveys of various lengths are ex-pected to be sent every few years toindividuals

“Many individuals diagnosed withcancer struggle to answer the ques-tion, ‘What caused my cancer?’ Inmany cases, we don’t know the an-swer,” said Alpa V. Patel, Ph.D., prin-

cipal investigator of CPS-3. “CPS-3will help us better understand whatfactors cause cancer, and once weknow that, we can be better equippedto prevent cancer.” Dr. Patel added,“Our previous cancer prevention stud-ies have been instrumental in helpingus identify some of the major factorsthat can affect cancer risk. CPS-3holds the best hope of identifying newand emerging cancer risks, and we canonly do this if members of the com-munity are willing to become in-volved.”

Researchers will use the data fromCPS-3 to build on evidence from a se-ries of American Cancer Society stud-ies that began in the 1950s thatcollectively have involved millions ofvolunteer participants. The Ham-mond-Horn Study and previous Can-cer Prevention Studies (CPS-I, andCPS-II) have played a major role inunderstanding cancer prevention andrisk, and have contributed significantlyto the scientific basis and developmentof public health guidelines and recom-mendations. Those studies confirmedthe link between cigarette smokingand lung cancer, demonstrated thelink between larger waist size and in-creased death rates from cancer and

other causes, and showed the consid-erable impact of air pollution on heartand lung conditions. The currentstudy, CPS-II, began in 1982 and isstill ongoing. But changes in lifestyleand in the understanding of cancer inthe more than two decades since itslaunch make it important to begin anew study.

The voluntary, long-term com-mitment by participants is what willproduce benefits for decades to come.“Taking an hour or so every few yearsto fill out a survey – and potentiallysave someone from being diagnosedwith cancer in the future - is a com-mitment that thousands of volunteerparticipants have already made. We’relooking for more like-minded individ-uals in Pasco County to join this effortthat we know will save lives and im-prove the outlook for future genera-tions,” said Dr. Patel.

For more information or tolearn how to become involved withCPS-3, visit cancer.org/cps3, emailcps3@cancer org, or call toll-free 1-888-604-5888.

Massage is a universal languagethat has been “spoken” for centuriesin every region of the globe, and it hasmany benefits including the ability toreduce anxiety, relieve pain, reduceblood pressure, and aid in relaxation. For many people, massage is a raretreat that they look forward to at thespa or as an experience during their va-cation. Others use massage on a regu-lar basis to help with chronic pain, reduce inflammation or to help healafter an injury. Whatever your reasonfor wanting a massage, Barkdoll Mas-sage Therapy makes it easy, affordableand best of all, Barkdoll comes to you.

Barkdoll Massage Therapy, whichis an entirely mobile-based massagebusiness, is based in the Trinity areaand is owned and operated by Li-censed Professional, Karla Barkdoll, who has been in the massage industrysince 2001. Serving Trinity and thesurrounding communities, BarkdollMassage Therapy is completely differ-ent in that it takes all of the stress outof your massage experience by bring-

ing it straight to you. No traffic, nostress, just pure relaxation where youfeel most comfortable!

Originally from a small town incentral Pennsylvania, Karla moved toBaltimore where she trained at theBaltimore School of Massage. Li-censed in Maryland, DC, Virginia andFlorida, Karla is a member of theAmerican Massage Therapy Associa-tion, and is Nationally Board Certified.

Karla’s massages can be done any-where – at home, poolside, or at theoffice. Most of her clients choose theroom in their house that offers theleast distractions, and there she createsa wonderful environment for massage. She also takes the time to really speakto her clients before their massage tolearn more about them so that she cancreate the best personalized massageexperience.

Lindsey from New Port Richeysays, “If you are looking for the bestmassage, then look no further than

Karla, she is a rare find. Once youhave a massage from Karla, you willlook no further, that I will guarantee!”

Massage Services that Improve YourLife

“Your Health is your Wealth” isthe philosophy at Barkdoll MassageTherapy, and that is why Karla takesthe time to really find out what kind ofmassage you prefer, whether it’s aSwedish massage or a deep tissue treat-ment for chronic pain, Karla’s massagewill make a difference in your life.

Karla offers a wide range of af-fordable massage therapy styles andpackages. If you are looking for a tra-ditional massage, Swedish massagetreatments are designed to improvecirculation, reduce stress and to relievemuscle tension. This massage is verypopular all over the world because ofits light, long, and slow strokes thatrelax your cares and worries away. Ifyou are interested in trying somethinga little different, hot stone massagesuse something called warm stone ther-apy, which is the art of using heatedstones in combination with a Swedishmassage. According to Karla, thewarm stones dissolve muscle tensionand induce a deep relaxation.

Deep tissue massage is a therapeu-tic treatment designed to ease the painand discomfort associated with chronicpain. Karla says, “During deep tissuemassages I use trigger points to specifi-cally find the places where the workneeds to be done.” Deep tissue mas-

sages can help people who live withpainful conditions live a fuller life.

Another style of massage thatKarla offers is sports massage and in-jury rehabilitation. This style of mas-sage combines the benefits and styleof a deep tissue massage with stretch-ing, which can improve the range ofmotion in joints. Whether you arehealing after a car accident or are suf-fering from chronic pain associatedwith a medical condition, this kind ofmassage can be extremely beneficial.

One of Karla’s clients from Trin-ity recently said, “I have had thepleasure of having Karla as a massagetherapist for the past six years and ithas always been an enriching andhealing experience. She is knowl-edgeable, professional and a kind-hearted person and I have nohesitation in recommending her serv-ice. She has hands of gold!”

Prenatal massages are a fantasticway to pamper the mom-to-be whileeasing some of the side effects ofpregnancy. Karla uses specially de-signed massage table pillows that cre-ate a comfortable position just forher during this time, so that pregnantmoms can safely enjoy their massage.

Aromatherapy is proven to aid in

relaxation, which is why BarkdollMassage Therapy offers a variety ofessential oils and scents that can beused in collaboration with any otherstyle of massage. Most often usedwith a Swedish massage, aromather-apy oils are applied by Karla duringyour massage to enhance the massageexperience.

One local couple recently wrote,“We all have very busy schedules andit saves us time and stress to haveKarla come right to our home. Myhusband has chronic pain and herweekly massages help him tremen-dously. Whether you just want agreat stress reliever or you have amedical condition I would highlyrecommend Karla!”

If you are looking for a fantasticway to improve morale at work, howabout offering your employees a cor-porate seated massage? This is a fullyclothed, seated massage that can bedone right at the office. This style ofmassage focuses on the back, neck, shoulders, scalp, arms and hands. What a great way to let your employ-ees know how much you care aboutthem!

My Massage with KarlaI am a huge fan of massages. I

go every chance I get, but to be hon-est, that isn’t very often. When I’mnot busy with my family or writingfor the Neighborhood News, I’m likemost moms and am usually con-cerned with everyone else’s comfortover my own. That’s why I was soexcited to be given the chance to ex-perience one of Karla’s massages bythe staff at Neighborhood News.(Thanks Jim!)

Scheduling my massage turnedout to be a breeze because BarkdollMassage Therapy is one of the onlyplaces that offers evening massage ap-pointments. It was all very easy forme since I wasn’t going to have toworry about driving anywhere or ababysitter for the kids! On theevening of my massage appointment,I simply picked out a quiet room inthe house, sent the kids outside toplay with my hubby, and got ready toenjoy my massage.

Karla arrived right on time andbrought everything she needed withher. A true professional, Karla evenwears a clinical massage uniform.Within just a few minutes Karla hadset up the massage table and was setup and ready to go. I was really im-pressed with how quickly the room Ihad picked had been transformed. Before we started she spoke to meabout what kind of massage treat-ment I wanted, and she asked if I hadany injuries that she needed to beaware of. We decided on a combina-tion Swedish and deep tissue mas-sage. She also offered me manydifferent aromatherapy options fromrose oil to eucalyptus. I felt totally atease, and while she stepped out ofthe room, I comfortably got onto themassage table and got settled.

When Karla came back in a mo-ment later, she put on what I like to

call “massage music,” and spoke tome about what she was going to dobefore she began. To my surprise, Iwas even more relaxed because I wasat home. I enjoyed the entire hourinstead of wondering how many min-utes had passed, or wondering aboutthe kids. I felt safe, pampered andwell cared for.

After my massage, I felt like asoftened stick of butter, and I wasable to just put on my slippers in-stead of my shoes! This was an in-credibly cool experience that mademe feel more centered, and reallychanged my outlook. I felt great fordays and my entire family could seewhat a difference it made for meboth physically and emotionally.

I can see that a massage withKarla would be a great gift, which iswhy I’m so happy that she offers giftcertificates, but one of the best partsabout Barkdoll Massage Therapy ishow affordable it is. I might nothave to wait for a special occasion be-cause her pricing is competitive andaffordable enough to fit into any-one’s budget on a regular basis. From now on, I’m going to take bet-ter care of myself, and that includeshaving massage treatments fromBarkdoll Massage Therapy on a regu-lar basis. See you in a few weeksKarla!

Barkdoll Massage Therapy isan entirely mobile massage therapybusiness that comes to you. The Central Park Family Restau-rant in New Port Richey has beenserving New York City cooking tolocal residents for five years, and inthat time has gained a reputation forgreat tasting, freshly prepared food, large portions and great prices. Conve-niently located on S.R. 54 betweenOld C.R. 54 and Rowan Rd. near theDunkin Doughnuts, the Central ParkFamily Restaurant is a favorite amongpeople of allages.

A family restaurant in more waysthan one, Chris Michael, owner ofCentral Park Family restaurant, grewup in his parent’s restaurants in NewYork and here in Florida. The Michaelfamily has been serving delicious NewYork City cooking, which has beenrichly influenced by their family’sGreek heritage, for more than 35years.

Their first restaurant in Florida wascalled the Four Coins Family Restau-rant, and it opened in St. Petersburg in1991. Chris’ father, Andy Michael, suc-

cessfully ran the Four Coins restau-rant for 16 years before they

began to expand. In 2006 they openedthe Central Park Deli & Grill in Olds-mar, and then in 2007 they came toNew Port Richey. Today, Andy stillruns a restaurant called the Square Platein Pinellas Park, while Chris’ brother,Charlie, runs the Central Park Restau-rant in Temple Terrace. For Chris andhis family, running a restaurant is truly apassion, and it shows.

At Central Park Family Restau-rant, there is a sign that reads “May allwho enter as guests leave as friends.”This is the motto for the restaurant

that really inspires Chris on a dailybasis. Chris says, “Over the years we’veacquired customers that have walkedin as a first time customer and they’vebecome part of our lives. He adds,“When our baby, Sofia, was born, wewere flooded with gifts and well-wishes and I can’t tell you how grate-ful we were.”

This is the kind of place where theowner greets you at the door by name, where Mama’s recipe is often made byMama, and where you can really haveanything that your heart desires to eat.

One satisfied customer said, “Thisrestaurant goes above-and-beyond fortheir customers! My family and I havedriven by Central Park hundreds oftimes and we finally decided to stop byand try it last night. We were blownaway. When we walked in the door wewere immediately greeted by theowner, we looked over and saw thechef’s specials of the day and couldn’tbelieve the pricing…it was great!”

Chris says, “Our Chef always pre-pares different dinner specials everynight. There is Stuffed Peppers everyWednesday, Corned Beef and Cabbageevery Thursday, Beer Battered Fishand Chips on Fridays, and weekendsfeature specials such as Mussels Lin-guine (with a huge portion of mussels)and lamb specials. And we are knownfor having the best Chicken Pot Piearound!”

Breakfast is Served!Breakfast starts early at Central

Park Family Restaurant, which opensits doors at 6:30 every morning. Witha breakfast menu that includes pan-cakes, French toast, waffles, and 67different kinds of omelettes, the hard-est part of your day may just be decid-ing which menu item to try.

Their “Egg-normous OmeletteMenu” is broken up into sections de-signed to help you choose your fa-vorites. For example, if you like simpleomelettes you may want to choosesomething “From the Cheese Fac-tory.” If you’re more of a traditionalomelette eater, you may want to pickone of their items from their “For theCarnivores” part of the menu. Theyeven offer seafood omelettes like theirShrimp Omelette, their ShellfishOmelette and their Tuna SaladOmelette. If you prefer somethingsweet, you will have to try one of theirfresh Fruit and Cream CheeseOmelettes off of the “Sweet Tooth”portion of the menu.

Ever had a Hamburger Omelette? How about a Blue Ribbon Omelettewhipped up with homemade chili andcheese? How about an Aparagus &Hollandaise Sauce Omelette?Omelettes from all over the world arealso represented in the menu, fromGreece to Mexico, from Hawaii toPhilly.

If omelettes aren’t “egg-xactly”your thing, you’ll find plenty of otherfavorites on the menu from traditionalfavorites to rare specialties like Penn-sylvania Scrapple.

Breakfast specials are amazinglyaffordable given the amount of foodon your plate(s), and according toChris, he has regulars who come inevery morning for breakfast. With 67omelettes to try, I can see why!

and said, “This little gem was a verypleasant surprise. The menu offers awide variety of choices. Everything wetried was excellent, and there wasplenty of it. Prices are very reasonable, too.”

Central Park for Lunch and DinnerIf New York City is the “melting

pot” of the country, then CentralPark’s lunch and dinner menu is therestaurant version. Influenced by foodstyles around the globe, there is some-thing for everyone. The menu beginswith traditional appetizers, but ifyou’re in the mood for somethingfun, you’ll really like their new GreekSaganaki, which is a pan fried cheesethat is set ablaze at the table andserved with Greek gyro bread.

Homemade soups are a staple ina family restaurant, and Central Park isno different. Every day there is ahomemade chicken soup as well as asoup-of-the-day. There is a large as-sortment of salads to choose from in-cluding a Greek salad that people justrave about. If you love a burger forlunch, you’ll enjoy their Empire StateBurger, which is a one-pounder!There are a couple of new burgers onthe menu including “The Skyscraper,”which is the largest burger that I’veever even heard of. This “EnormousMonstrosity” is a triple-decker, eachpatty adding a half-pound of BlackAngus to the pile. By the time it hitsthe plate with all the toppings, theburger weighs in at over two pounds. The Skyscraper literally comes with awarning to eat at your own risk!

If that’s a bit much, but you stillwant a sandwich, you might want totry one of their “Skyscraper ClubSandwiches” which are served onthree slices of bread, with lettuce, tomato, bacon and mayo, and servedwith French fries and soup. This ex-tensive menu also includes “Hot

Open Faced” sandwiches, “MarketFresh” sandwiches, and “Big-MouthWraps.”

If you like grilled sandwiches, you’ll love their “Off the Grill” sec-tion which includes a variety of fa-vorites like the Monte Cristo, theFrench Dip, and their Central ParkSignature sandwich, which is piledhigh with fresh layers of pastrami andcorned beef on authentic rye breadand topped with Swiss cheese, spicymustard and grilled onions. Everygrilled sandwich comes with Frenchfries and soup – all under $7!

“Homestyle Dinners” includeChopped Steak with Grilled Onions,Broiled Pork Chops, Baked MeatLoaf, Tender N.Y. Strip Steak andBroiled Pork Chops, just to name afew. If you’re a regular at Central ParkFamily Restaurant, you might want totry their new Pierogis and Kielbasa!

Since the Michael family is Greek, they have an excellent selection ofGreek Dinner Specialties that includea Gyro Dinner Platter, Chicken Sou-vlaki, Spanakopita and Shrimp San-torini – this is just a sampling of themany choices.

When you become a regular atCentral Park Family Restaurant theywill set you up with their dining re-ward card, which stores informationon it like a credit card. Every time youeat at Central Park, it saves up pointsthat you can put towards free meals.

“Our customers love the rewardscard,” says Chris. “They use them allthe time and really enjoy the savingsthat they get.”

Central Park Family Restau-rant is located at 7657 S.R. 54 inNew Port Richey. It is open 7 daysa week from 6:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. Formore information, to order carry-out or to ask about catering, pleasecall {727} 376-7402 or visitCentralParkFamilyRestaurant.com.

You may recall the story we didlast year about U.S. Marine CorpsCorporal Justin Gaertner, the Trinitymarine who suffered the loss of bothof his legs, and a severe injury to hisleft arm, when an improvised bombexploded beneath his feet inAfghanistan in November 2010.

Gaertner, now 23, and a 2007graduate of Mitchell High School inTrinity, went through intensive ther-apy with passionate determinationand motivation. While it normallytakes a person about six to ninemonths to learn how to walk on arti-ficial legs, Justin Gaertner did it inthree. Justin now has eight pairs ofprosthetic legs. He can walk, surf andsnowboard and recently won silvermedals in the 2012 Warrior Games.

On Memorial Day, a day onwhich we honor those who servedour country, Justin was picked up at10 a.m. by The Florida PatriotGuard Riders, who escorted him in

POW-MIA for-mationfrom hishome inTrinity tothe SunToyota dealership in Holiday. He wasgreeted by a carnival atmosphere; thewhole dealership was transformedinto a display of military men andwomen, along with the public, all ofwhom saluted Justin. The commu-nity event took place during theweekend of May 25 through Memo-rial Day on May 28.

Then came the pièce de résis-tance—Joe Reth, general manager ofSun Toyota, presented Justin withthe keys to a new Toyota TundraPlatinum Crewmax, especially fittedwith hand controls, step bars andother conveniences by Sun Toyota. The total cost for the vehicle with its

modifications is$60,000. Thisnew truck will

be lower to the ground and easier toget into from a wheelchair. It willhave hand controls, dual climate con-trol and backup camera. The dealer-

ship is picking up a good portion ofthe cost. The truck was missing partson Memorial Day, but the hope wasto have it ready by the following

One parent said, "Our family ab-solutely loves Jeremy Albert and hisstaff! He has such a wonderful andfriendly demeanor with us and ourchildren. His office is beautiful andsuper clean with cool video games forthe kids to play on while they wait. The actual patient rarely has to waitover five minutes before they're seen, but the video games are great for thesiblings who have to come along tothe appointments. There's also Wi-Fiaccess and great coffee for the par-ents to access. [The] staff up front al-ways greet you with a smile and areso pleasant to work with.”

Dr. Albert likes to see his futurepatients for a free consultationaround the age of seven or eight, sothat he can better educate the parentson what to expect when they areteenagers and their permanent teethcome in. When Dr. Albert works

with families in this way, everyone isprepared and ready to go when treat-ment begins.

Like technology, orthodonticshas evolved a great deal. Braces havemore options, are more comfortable, smaller than in years past, and are af-fordable for more people. Also, braces can get the job done fasternow than in years past. Where itmight have taken a patient five yearsto reach their desired smile a decadeago, the average length for braces isnow about two years. Also, Dr. Al-bert has a digital x-ray machine thatreduces radiation and provides phe-nomenal images for diagnosis.

The regular silver smile is alwaysavailable and effective, but they alsooffer “clear” or tooth-colored bracesthat really seem to make the bracesdisappear. Also, there is an alternativeto braces called Invisalign, which is aclear retainer-like plate or “aligner”that patients wear over their teeth, and using computer imaging andmolds of the patient’s teeth, a seriesof these clear aligners are worn untilthe desired outcome is reached.

Dr. Albert says, “We have re-cently added digital scanning tech-

nology for our patients seeking In-visalign treatment. Patients can nowavoid the mess or awkward feelingsof dental impressions with our iTerodigital orthodontic scanner - a tech-nology which uses an intraoral cam-era wand that takes thousands ofpictures which are digitally assimi-lated into 3D models of the patient'steeth. The 3D models provide highlyaccurate fit of the Invisalign aligners

and the ability to digitally submitrecords to Invisalign will shortentime for the turnaround time foraligners to be received.”

In it to Win it!Albert Family Orthodontics is

really committed to being a part ofeach of their patient’s lives while theyare receiving treatment, which is whyDr. Albert and his staff hold so many

family activities. Each year they do avariety of things to bring their fami-lies together, and it’s usually for agood cause!

This summer Dr. Albert is hav-ing a “Summer of Music and Smiles”event. He says, “We will be kicking itoff with a contest through May andJune where we will give away fourtickets to the hot new boy-band OneDirection, live in concert in Tampaon June 29. Then from July to Au-gust, we will be giving away a num-ber of iPod Nanos as well!”

would like to help rid our commu-nity of this poison, please e-mailme at [email protected] andI will add your name to our up-dates list. The child you save maybe your own.”

If you join Erik’s email list, you’ll be informed of the local fightagainst stores who are selling thesedrugs. The Suojanens organizedthe first protest on May 6th at theMetro Gas Station located at 9011Little Road in New Port Richey. Itwas attended by at least 40 protest-ers carrying signs and was coveredby Fox 13 News, ABC ActionNews, the Tampa Bay Times andNeighborhood News & Lifestyles. This is a problem that is turninginto a national epidemic and isbeing recognized by officials atevery level.

“I commend Sheriff Nocco, parents and others who are work-ing diligently to rid our communityof bath salts and spice,” says Sena-tor Mike Fasano. “It is sad that nomatter how hard we try to outlawthese dangerous substances, greedy

people continue to create newcompounds so they can skirt thelaw. It is vitally important that par-ents be made aware of the scourgethese substances are. Sold as sup-posedly benign substances, they areintentionally are misused, oftenwith serious consequences. Thenumber of hospitalizations due toabusing these substances is rapidlyincreasing. Hopefully the commu-nity will band together and forcethe stores that carry these productsto pull them from their shelves. What little money the store maymake is hardly worth the physicaland emotional damage they cause, especially to the young and impres-sionable.”

Sen. Fasano continues, “WhileTallahassee will continue to trystaying ahead of the curve in its ef-forts to make more and more com-pounds illegal, it truly takes theactive involvement of families, lead-ers and the business community toimpress upon vendors and thosewho purchase these items, thatthey are dangerous substances thatdo more harm than good. I hopethat as we continue to work to-gether we can one day look back

and see that the lure of spice andbath salts has faded and their avail-ability has dried up.”

We are consumers. We stop atconvenience stores and spend ourhard-earned wages. There are manystores that would never carry theseproducts. Make sure you arespending your money at storeswhere the management has morals.Boycott these stores that are sellingspice, bath salts and other designerdrugs, and soon they will realizethat whatever small profit they aremaking on this trash can’t make upfor the profits lost from other sales.

“They are working on this at alegislative level to get this out-lawed,” says Erik Suojanen. “Pleasedo not wait for others (governmentor otherwise) to solve this prob-lem. It’s our problem. I don’t careif it’s legal – they know what it isthey are selling. It’s morally cor-rupt and not only that – it is evil!”

Join the fight, [email protected] for infor-mation about future protests. Andat the very least, if you find that astore is selling “spice” or “bathsalts,” let them know you won’t beback.
