Hydraulic Application – Loaders
Construction Equipment

Situation Analysis
A customer operates a Volvo Loader for 23 hours daily in a waste management dump.
Loader operates with 120 liters of hydraulic oil.
Change interval for hydraulic oil is 1500 hours.
Oil condition is deteriorating within the first 1000 hours of operation.
A solution was needed to help maintain oil characteristic in top condition.
Triple R proposed the BU-50 high pressure housing and the 2-micron M50 filtration element.

Oil Samples ComparedNew Oil vs. RRR vs. No RRR
New oil and RRR-filtered oil are visually identical in color and texture and viscosity.
Non-filtered oil is contaminated and unsuitable for further use

Analytically, RRR-filtered oil is;
Cleaner than non-filtered oil.
Cleaner than new oil from the tank.

ISO Standard 4402 (1999)
Results Highlights
98% reduction in contamination at first change interval – 1500 hours.
93% cleaner than new oil out of the tank.
Oil is already on its way to 15000 hours operation and is being tested at regular interval.
10 folds saving on oil cost in direct saving.
Cleaner hydraulic system means less unscheduled breakdown due to contaminated oil, and this indirect saving may reach 70% saving.
