WHITE WATER RAFTING COST: $95Ocoee River, TennesseeSeptember 7-9Pre-Trip Meeting: September 5th || 5 - 7 p.m. Auburn OutdoorsKick off your semester by riding the rapids of the Ocoee River with Auburn Outdoors! Cool off from a hot summer day with a true whitewater adventure, complete with Class III and IV rapids. Expert raft guides will help you navigate the river. After our time on the water, we will catch the sunset from a beautiful overlook, cook, and camp together. Hiking to multiple waterfalls is an option! Cost includes gear, transportation, camping, instruction and food. No refunds or transfers. Semi-modern facilities for camping are available. Level 1 – Low level of physical conditioning is necessary and no experience is required.

BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO BIKE MAINTENANCE FREE Auburn OutdoorsSeptember 13, 5 - 7 p.m.Ever thought about doing your own bicycle maintenance, but were not sure where to start? This workshop will walk you through the basics of bike maintenance and repairs. Learning to do so is rewarding and worth the effort. It allows you to get to know the workings of your bike and you will have a better understanding of how to keep it running in tip-top shape. With our free bike shop stand and use of tools you can continue to practice your skills and keep your bike running great while at Auburn and beyond!

OAK MOUNTAIN MOUNTAIN BIKE DAY TRIP COST: $30Birmingham, AlabamaSeptember 16, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Home to a certified IMBA Epic trail system, Oak Mountain State

Park has some of the top trails in all of the Southeast. Just a short drive away, we are loading up the bike trailer with our new Kona Mountain Bikes to hit the trails for a day! The park offers a wide variety of trails for all levels of experience, but to get the most out of the trails, some degree of mountain bike experience is recommended. Cost includes gear, transportation, park entry fee, instruction and food while on the trail. Feel free to bring your own mountain bike/equipment if you wish. No refunds or transfers. Level 2 – Some experience recommended, a moderate level of physical conditioning is necessary.

INTRODUCTION TO BACKPACKING FREEAuburn OutdoorsSeptember 19, 5 - 7 p.m. Learn how to hit the trail with nothing but your backpack and supplies for days at a time. Backpacking is one of our favorite ways to enjoy the great outdoors. This workshop covers information about gear, food and the specifics of planning your own trip. The workshop is a great introduction for beginners and a refresher for more experienced backpackers. This workshop is recommended for anyone interested in backpacking and looking for areas to explore.

BEGINNER MOUNTAIN BIKING TRIP WITH DINNER COST: $15Chewacla State Park, Auburn, AlabamaSeptember 27, 4 - 9 p.m. Ride some of the best mountain bike trails in Alabama at Chewacla State Park, located right in your own backyard! Chewacla is home to 30+ miles of varied mountain bike trails suitable for all skill levels. Nothing is better after a good ride than a hot meal! Enjoy cooking delicious backcountry food to enjoy together. Members must be comfortable riding a bike but no mountain biking experience is necessary. This trip is perfect for individuals looking to get into the sport. Cost includes gear, transportation, instruction and food. No refunds or transfers. Level 1 - Low level of physical conditioning is necessary and no experience is required.

with us, carrying everything you need in your pack! Mountaintop vistas, waterfalls, and smiles are all part of the experience on this 4-day backpacking trip. This 30+ mile route has moderate terrain that can be strenuous at times, but always rewarding! We will be camping and hiking in a wilderness setting with no modern bathroom facilities available. Cost includes transportation, camping fees, equipment, instruction and backcountry food. No refunds or transfers. Level 2 – Some experience recommended, a moderate level of physical conditioning is necessary.

SUNSET KAYAKING COST: $10Lake Martin, AlabamaOctober 18, 3 - 9 p.m. Join us for an afternoon paddle and enjoy a sunset on one of Alabama’s most beautiful lakes. Escape Auburn at 3 p.m., drive to the lake, and shove off into a quiet and serene cove of Lake Martin. Enjoy a peaceful paddle around an island to watch the sunset and then make your way back to the park. Cost includes transportation, instruction and equipment. No refunds or transfers. Level 1 - Low level of physical conditioning is necessary and no experience is required.

DISC GOLF IN OPELIKA FREEOpelika, AlabamaOctober 24th, 2 - 6 p.m. Enjoy one of our favorite, laid-back outdoor activities - disc golf! Located in our own backyard, Opelika has a great course for learning the basics. Instruction, gear, and transportation are all included. Level 1 – Low level of physical conditioning is necessary and no experience is required.

GOURMET COOKING/PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP COST: $5Auburn OutdoorsOctober 30 , 5 - 8 p.m. Life is too short for ramen noodles and hot dogs on a camping trip! Join us as we teach you how to cook our favorite Dutch oven meals for camping. While the dishes are cooking on the coals, we run you through the basics of photography and put the instruction to practice. Enjoy good food, good photos, and good friends! Spots are limited. Personal cameras are encouraged, but not necessary.

SUWANNEE RIVER CANOE TOURING COST: $95 Suwannee River, FloridaNovember 16 - 20

Pre-trip Meeting: November 7 || 5 p.m. Auburn OutdoorsEnjoy your break by exploring the Suwannee River by canoe — and still be home for Thanksgiving! We will paddle the historic, free-flowing river exploring the local wildlife, swamps, high limestone banks, hammocks of hardwood, and springs along the way. Our lodging will be basic huts with restrooms. We will depart Auburn after classes on the 16th. Cost includes transportation, instruction, backcountry food, permits, canoeing and camping equipment. Don’t worry, we’ll be back for the Iron Bowl win. Level 1 – Low level of physical conditioning is necessary and no experience is required.

INTRO TO BICYCLE ROAD RIDING MISSION: COFFEE RUN FREEAuburn Outdoors / Opelika, AlNovember 3012 - 3 p.m Go for a bike ride with Auburn Outdoors, and check out one of our favorite routes for riding on the road. This relaxed, group ride will set out from the rental shop and wind its way to Opelika for a nice mid-ride boost of caffeine at Side Track Coffee. We will then set off back for Auburn, making a total round trip of about 20 miles (it is not as far as it sounds, we promise). We will provide road bikes and helmets free of charge! Cost includes instruction and equipment. Must be able to comfortably ride a bicycle. Level 1 - Low level of physical conditioning is necessary and no experience is required.

Climbing Wall Fall 2018

FUNDAMENTALS OF CLIMBING FREEDates: See RWC Connect || 6 p.m. -7:30 p.m.Learn how to belay and tie knots for top rope climbing. If you are interested in getting a top rope verification to be able to belay during normal hours of operation, this course will cover all information tested in the top rope certification test.

ROUTE SETTING 101 WORKSHOP FREEDates: September 9th || 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.Route Setting covers the basics of how to set bouldering problems. Learn to set quality problems safely and the mechanics of setting during this workshop. This workshop is required to set boulder problems at the Climbing Wall during open community setting times.

LEAD CLIMBING WORKSHOP FREEDates: September 23rd, October 4th and 21st, November 11th || 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.Have you mastered top rope basics and want to take your climbing to the next level? Sign up to learn the basics of how to safely lead climb. Climbers must attend this clinic and pass skills verification before lead climbing at the

COMMUNITY SETTING FREEDates: September 30th and December 2nd || 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.Want to be involved with your climbing community and give back? Come and set some routes. Sessions are for members who have taken Route Setting 101. These fun social nights allow you to set new problems, get feedback from other climbers, and meet new people.

LADIES NIGHT FREE Date: November 28th || 9 p.m. - 11 p.m.Join us at the climbing wall for our ladies climbing workshop! We will start off with some yoga, discuss female climbing strategies for all skill levels, listen to music, and climb as a community. All are welcome.

ALL HALLOWS CLIMBDate: November 1st 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.Join us at the climbing wall for our All Hallows climbing celebration. Enjoy the fun and games that will be offered at the wall during this time. There will be various prizes awarded throughout the night so don’t miss out!
