Trips & Tours @ DPS Bopal FIELD TRIP TO SATELLITE POLICE STATION
In keeping with “Befriend Your Cop” campaign, a visit to Satellite Police station was
organised for few students of class IV and V on 18.07.13. This gave them a brief
insight about the role played by the Police Department in maintaining the law and
order situation in the country. The students had a casual interaction with
Mr. Ashok Pandya, Police Inspector, wherein they learnt a little about the
functioning of the department and how to join the police force. The children asked
various questions like what is an FIR, how to lodge an FIR, difference between a
lock up and a jail to which the police officials responded patiently. They had the
privilege to see the police station, the admin block, lock up etc. The students tied
Friendship Bands as a gesture of goodwill to some of the policemen and gave them
a ‘Thank You’ card as they work to keep our society safe. Students returned to
school with an excitement to share this invaluable experience with their classmates
JAMBUGHODA MONSOON CAMP
The students of class VII went for the MONSOON CAMP to
JAMBUGHODA in different batches on 27.07.13 to 28.07.13,
09.08.14 to 10.08.13 and 17.08.13 to 18.08.13. The camp was
organized by Anala Outdoors in the Vananchal Resort in the lush
green lap of nature. Students enjoyed various activities like
trekking, flying fox, trampoline, zorbing and horse riding.
Students enjoyed the food and activities and found the camp
very inspirational.
VISIT TO SABARMATI ASHRAM
An educational trip to Gandhi Ashram was organized for students of class IV as a
part of their Hindi activity. The students were sent in two batches of 5 sections each
on 29.08.13 and 31.08.13 respectively during the school hours.
They were taken to ‘Hridaykunj’ (the place where Gandhiji stayed during his visit to
Ahmedabad). The children were briefed about the life of Gandhiji and Sabarmati
Ashram. The students also saw his belongings such as spinning wheel, a pair of
spectacles, walking stick etc. The students enjoyed the trip and gained information
through an interactive session with the people from the Ashram and the Museum
and the Art Gallery which was full of pictures of freedom fighters. They could
actually relate the trip to the Hindi lesson which they learnt, dealing with life of
Gandhiji and his freedom struggle. The students also did some mediation in the
tranquility of the Ashram to show respect to “The Father of the Nation”.
TRIP TO PINK CITY- JAIPUR
The children of class VI of DPS Bopal visited the beautiful city of Jaipur.
106 students were accompanied by 6 teachers. They boarded the train
on 16.10.13. They were accommodated in the beautiful Gold Palace
Resorts, which in itself was really beautiful. They also visited Historical
places like The City Palace, The Jal Mahal, Jantar- Mantar, Hawa Mahal
etc. The students even enjoyed the traditional Rajasthani dance and
puppet show. They visited the Central Mall, Jaipur. The whole trip was
very enriching, beautiful and enjoyable.
TRIP TO GIR NATIONAL PARK & WILDLIFE SACTUARY
The students of Class V went on an outstation trip to Gir National Park &
Wildlife Sanctuary commonly known as SASAN GIR from 19.10.13 to
21.1013. Gir is the only place in the world outside Africa, where the lions
can be seen in its natural habitat. The trip included a lion safari in open
jeeps, visit to Gir Interpretation Zone- Devalia and Kamleshwar dam
which is the biggest reservoir situated in the middle of the sanctuary
often dubbed as 'The Lifeline of Gir'. Students went trekking along the
riverside, did some bird watching and the unforgettable lion safari was
just too good to be true as they saw wild boar, black buck, nilgai, spotted
deer, golden jackal and sambar. They were spellbound to see the lions in
the wild.
TRIP TO UDAIPUR
The students of Class III went on a trip to Udaipur from 26.10.13 to
28.10.13. Udaipur is commonly known as the “City of Lakes” or Venice of
the east. It has been the shooting location for many Hollywood and
Bollywood movies due to its picturesque and scenic locations. The trip
included a tour of the City Palace, visit to Shilpgram – a craft village and
Saheliyon ki Badi. Children were shown a ‘Light and Sound show’ at
Maharana Pratap Smarak which gave them an insight about the history of
Udaipur City and in particular the Rajput era. Apart from local
sightseeing, students enjoyed many fun filled activities in the serenity of
the resort. They also had a blast at the DJ Party in the resort.
LONAVALA ADLABS IMAGICA TRIP REPORT
The students of class IX went to the Lonavala from 13.11.13 to
17.11.13 organized by CNE. Around 138 students were
accompanied by 8 teachers. The students visited a lot of places
like: Tiger hill, echo point, Khandala, Sunset point, Garden. They
enjoyed their trip to Adlabs Imagica and the wax museum.
Overall the trip was informative and students enjoyed a lot in the
“Adlabs Imagica”.
TRIP TO SAPUTARA
The students of class X went on a trip to Saputara from 03.01.14
to 06.01.14. The tour was organized by Anala Outdoors.
157 students were accompanied by their class teachers for the
trip. The children enjoyed their visits to the Saputara Lake,
The Artist Village, an Apiculture centre and learnt how honeybees
are breeded, Saputara Museum, Sunset Point, Gira Falls etc.
There were various activities such as horse ride, bike ride and
camel ride.
MANIAR’S WONDERLAND
The students of class I and Class II went for a school picnic to Maniar’s
Wonderland on 06.01.14 and 07.01.014. The children had a gala time as
they enjoyed various rides in the amusement park like joy train, play
zone, wonder chair, masti planet etc. The children were thrilled to see
the Fun House packed with exciting rides. They did some free play in the
lush green gardens and also shook a leg in the disco hall on various
popular songs. The children relished the delectable food and ate to their
heart’s content. The children were also given caps as souvenir.
TRIP TO MT. ABU
The students of Class IV went for an out station trip to Mt. Abu from
15.02.14 to 17.02.14. The trip included a tour of City, visit to Nakki Lake,
close observation of world famous Dilwara Jain temple (a complex of
temples carved of white marble that was built between the 11th and 13th
centuries AD.), Achalgarh fort and the faith community of Brahma
Kumaris’ spiritual headquarters. Apart from local sightseeing, students
enjoyed many fun filled activities in the serenity of the hotel that included
magic show, puppet show and a DJ party as well.
EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO SUNDERVAN
The students of class I went to an educational trip to Sundervan
on 19.2.14, 20.2.14 and 21.2.14. The students had a lot of fun
watching the turtles, pythons, porcupines, exotic birds and
different varieties of fish and snakes. The students were
informed about the various characteristics of snakes like moulting
i.e. shedding of skin. They were also shown the eggs of different
birds like ostrich and geese. Children were thrilled to see the
bats. They had a wonderful time in the lap of nature.
VISIT TO GANDHI ASHRAM
An educational trip to Gandhi Ashram (Sabarmati) for class II
was organised on 25.02.2014 and 26.02.2014. The students
visited museum, gallery, library and Hridhay Kunj (the residence
of Gandhiji). They saw exhibition showing quotations, letters and
other relics of Gandhiji. They were thrilled to see the spinning of
yarn on charkha and were explained about the life of Gandhiji.
They also saw the importance of Dandi March and his non violent
movement during the freedom struggle of India. The students
as well as teachers felt inspired and enlightened.
EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO INDRODA NATURE PARK
On 28.02.14, the students of class III went for an educational trip to
Indrora Park, Gandhinagar. The objective of the tour was to expose
children with their surroundings. In the park the students were given
information about the dinosaurs, their kinds, causes of extinction, fossils
of animals and eggs of dinosaurs. Children were very excited and keen to
know more about them. Many were taking notes of all the things they
saw around. They were also taken to the zoo area where they saw many
wild animals, birds and various other creatures. Children were ecstatic to
see the leopard and the tiger. They also saw many different varieties of
snakes and cobras. Few other animals/ birds they saw were alligator,
black buck, white buck, white peacock, steppe eagle, different species of
parrots etc.
EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO SCIENCE CITY
Students of class V went to Science City for an educational trip on
05.03.14. It was an enticing and quite informative trip for children.
They visited Energy Park, Earth Pavilion, Life Science Park, Hall of
Science and Hall of Space.
The children were full of enthusiasm and learnt a lot. The children came
back highly enlightened.
REPORT FOR MAHABALESHWAR TRIP
The students of class VIII went for a trip to Mahabaleshwar and
Panchgani. 134 students were accompanied by 8 teachers. The entire
group was divided in two groups and stayed in two different hotels with 4
teachers in each hotel. The students enjoyed the places like Panchgani
(Parsi point, Table point) and the lunch at Mapro garden. Also the
Pratapgarh fort was found to be very informative giving a glimpse of
Shivagi Period. Overall the trip was edifying.
