IR/RS232 Adapter

The trivum RS232/Infrared Adaptor is an inter-

face that sends infrared and RS232 commands to

devices via UDP protocol. Due to the UDP support

the adaptor can be addressed very easily (e.g. from

the Gira HomeServer). The intelligent and practice-

oriented software makes a complicated protocol

unnecessary. Page/slot numbers are sufficient for a

UDP request.

HTTPThanks to the possibility to access infrared or RS232 commands via http requests it is e.g. possible to operate devices via a web browser (Safari, Firefox, IE) (as of Q3/2012).

UDPThe adaptor can also be controlled via a simple, text-based UDP protocol.

KNXThe adaptor can be easily integrated in Gira Home-Servers or Jung FAP applications. Thus, the control of external devices directly from these applications is extremely simplified.

Infrared controllingThe infrared commands filed in the adaptor are passed down to the external infrared transmitting diode 1:1.

RS232 controllingThe adaptor offers various possibilities for forwarding and receipt of data via RS232.

IR learningInfrared codes can be taught due to the build-in infrared eye which is controlled by the software. Frequencies up to 500 kHz are supported.

PoEThe electric power supply of the adaptor can happen by means of the network cable via PoE (PowerOve-rEthernet) switches – or with an optionally available wall power supply.

Easy addressingCommands (infrared / RS232) are filed in the adaptor in pages and slots, making the use of the adaptor extremely easy.

ConfigurationThe adaptor is configured with a PC application (Win-dows, Mac (as of Q3/2012)). Commands can be learnt (IR) or entered (RS232) and filed in pages/slots
