Wood Chipper / Shredder History The first chipper that was built was called a Drum Chipper. The woodchipper was invented by Peter Jensen (Maasbüll, Germany) in 1884, the “Marke Angeln” woodchipper soon became the core business of his company, which already produced and repaired communal- and woodworking-machinery. The earlier machines had some flaws, if you got too close there was the risk of loss of limbs and even death.

These machines help with the reduction of wood pieces from chips, sawdust, or trunks. They are transportable with various horsepower avail-abilities. They are used by placing limbs within their hopper and chops the material down. These bits are released through a tube that places them within a bin, crate, or even the ground.

There are several kinds of wood chippers that are used today which include: drum, disk, high torque roller, whole tree chippers,

All chippers vary in size, from the size of the wood to the thickness in diameter. There are some that have the length between four to six inch-es long, and are shaped in a rectangle. High grade steel goes into making these wood chippers. The harsh enviroments gave this luster lack caused them to unreliable and performance with the machines.

The first digital LED display was developed by Kurt Snider in 1999. This controller helps eliminate the process of self feeding of the self feeding of wood and other materials into the wheels when the engine bogged down.
