Most F150 and Superduty trucks do not have a rear inner fender liner, exposing it to debris. No rear inner fender liner, also means there is not enough mountingpoints for mud flaps. Having a bracket helps to support the flap so that it can provide extra protection and catch debris that passes from the tires to the rear of the vechicle.
