Why LED # 2

● Mercury Free – LEDs are environmentally friendly. Fluorescents contain mercury.

● Dimming Control – Specialized LEDs have outstanding dimming capabilities. Fluorescents are extremely poor at dimming.

● Directional - LEDs can be directed exactly where you need light. Fluorescents are multi-directional and much of the light is lost.

● Works Well with Controls – Fluorescent lifetimes are reduced when integrated with occupancy sensors and other controls. LEDs work perfectly with control systems and are instant on/instant off.

● Shatterproof – T8 LED tubes are made of high impact plastics. Glass is available that appears similar to T8 fluorescent lamps - however they are not shatterproof.

Reduce Fixed Costs

Every business has fixed costs.

Usually a sacrifice must be made...In order to save money over time, a significant investment with a long payback period is required.

Converting to LED dramatically reduces fixed costs without a long payback period.

In addition LED lighting provides many additional benefits to both the property managers as well as the building occupants.

Office Conversions

In an office environment we typically run into fixtures with 2 or 4 foot tubes. Because our tubes are only 12 watts, we can achieve reductions up to 63%!

Here is an example for a 27,000 sq. ft. office building. In this example we used a combination of 4ft tubes, 2ft tubes, and LED panels.

Warehouse Conversions

In a warehouse environment we typically run into fixtures with 400 or 1000 watt HID (High Intensity Discharge) bulbs. With the efficiency of LED, we can achieve reductions up to 85%!

Here is an example for a warehouse with 100, 1000w HID fixtures. By replacing with a 150w LED fixture, we achieved an 85% reduction with an 7 month pay back!

Improve Work Environment

LED Color OptionsThe color of the tube or bulb is measured in Kelvin. Higher numbers are bright and lower numbers are warm. Color is a preference but studies have shown that higher kelvin numbers can increase productivity.

Maintenance

Maintaining a property with hundreds or thousands of ballasts can become expensive. Many properties will wait until enough ballasts have gone bad to justify the cost of an electrician. Removing the ballast removes the problem.

Heat

Ballasts are hot! Imagine what thousands are doing to the cost of cooling a building!

Flickering

Flickering lights are a result of a ballast going or gone bad. This can attribute to sleep disruption, headaches, and other related issues.
