A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT
Third Sunday of Easter • Weekend of April 9/10, 2016
In today’s Gospel we hear of that mysterious meeting Jesus’ disciples had
with him on the shore of the Lake of Tiberius. Jesus invited them to have breakfast
with him. He took the bread and gave it to them, and the same with the fish. None of
the disciples were bold enough to ask: “Who are you?” They realized it was the risen
Lord. Those who practice good stewardship of their life of faith are touched by joy
and moved by deep awe when encountering Christ in the celebration of the Eucharist.
How do you experience the mysterious presence of Jesus in the Eucharist? Do you
recognize his presence? Do you hear the Lord’s invitation to draw nearer? Do you
experience a closeness, or a reserve? A familiarity, or a distance?

UPCOMING EVENTS
Spiritual Adoption Program: St. Anthony of Padua will kick off the “Spiritual Adoption Program” next weekend, April 23/24. Participants pledge to pray for nine months for a baby in danger of abortion. While this child will remain unknown to his or her 'spiritual parent', God knows who the child is. Many people have found that naming 'their child' helps to keep them focused on the reality that their prayers are helping to save a particular baby from the harm of abortion. At the end of the nine months, we will host a baby shower that will benefit Woman’s New Life Center. More details coming soon.
Pentecost Potluck: Our annual Pentecost Potluck will be held after the 11am Mass on Pentecost Sunday, May 15. Please plan to attend and bring a dish to share!
Beginning Experience Weekend: April 22-24, This program is intended for those suffering the loss of a love relationship through death, divorce or separation who are ready to move for-ward with their lives. Contact Toni at (985) 789-8666 for details.
Shalom/Hope & Purpose Retreat: This retreat, led by Dn. Larry and Andi Oney, will be held April 22-24, 2016 at Lumen Christi Retreat Center in Schriever. For details or to register, please go to www.hopeandpurpose.org
or call 504-681-6145. Flyers available in the rear of the church.

World Day of Prayer for Vocations:
The annual World Day of Prayer for
Vocations will be observed on April 17.
You are encouraged to participate in
prayer for an increase in vocations and
for those who have committed them-
selves to a religious vocation.
Prayer for Vocations
O God, Father of all Mercies, Provider of a bountiful Harvest,
send Your Graces upon those You have called to gather the
fruits of Your labor; preserve and strengthen them in their lifelong service of you. Open the hearts of Your children that they may dis-cern Your Holy Will; inspire in
them a love and desire to surrender themselves to serving others in the name of Your son,
Jesus Christ. Teach all Your faith-ful to follow their respective paths
in life guided by Your Divine Word and Truth. Through the in-
tercession of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, all the Angels, and Saints, humbly hear our prayers and grant Your Church's needs,
through Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

A través

Participantes oraran
durante nueve meses por un bebe
en peligro de aborto. Mientras este
bebe permanece desconocido a su
'padre o madre espiritual', Dios
sabe quien es el bebe. Muchas
personas encuentran que nombrar
el bebe les ayuda a permanecer
enfocados en la realidad que sus
oraciones están ayudando salvar un
bebe en particular del peligro de
aborto. Al final de los nueve meses,
tendremos un baby shower que
beneficiara el Centro para Mujeres
Nueva Vida. Tendremos mas
detalles próximamente.
